5 out of 5 stars A great value with lasting, delightful playing power!   November 18, 2008

What a delightful toy! My 3-year old niece just loved this birthday gift, and it's has so much variety in it's responses and in the various pieces that goes with it - she never gets bored. It's also easy and intuitive enough that it doesn't take any teaching on how to use (so they enjoy it all the more quickly!). She immediately picked up the stethoscope on her own and checked the little pony's heart, when he asked "do I have a temperature?" she made sure to check it with the thermometer. In fact, the only problem with it was when her Daddy asked her to do something - she told him she was very busy taking care of her baby! (Who enchantingly thanked her for taking care of him - as she'd bumped that sensor!)

Having purchased "wanted" gifts before for far much more which didn't deliver on-going enjoyment, this well thought-out, delightfully engaging gift is a great value and wonderful gift for any 2-5 year old girl!

4 out of 5 stars Great toy, but there's no off switch!   September 13, 2008

This is a great toy that my daughter loves. It has various sensor pads over its body, that when pressed evoke a response. So for example, when you blow its nose with the hankies provided the pony will respond by blowing and thanking you for doing so. (One of the reviews mistakenly suggests that you can't get to the two hankies. They come packaged between a sheet of plastic to keep them still for display purposes while packaged, but if you put your finger inside the tissue box you can pull them out quite easily and use them). Each sensor point has at least two different responses each time they are activated, so that keeps it from becoming too predictable and repetitive for a child.

It comes with a thermometer, medicine dispenser, stethoscope and two handkerchiefs. Its diaper and the Band-Aid are partially fixed to the toy, which is great because the Band-Aid would have been lost by now and my daughter has no problem "changing its diaper" and re-attaching the Velcro (I'm usually stuck having to do it with her other toys where the diaper comes off completely).

I would only give it 4 stars because there is no off switch. When my daughter just wants to take it to bed or hug it, she is met with a barrage of phrases, because sensors are being activated. In the end I had to take the batteries out so she could hug it and take it to bed without being woken up. Overall it's a great toy and makes an excellent gift for a child aged 2 - 6 years old.

5 out of 5 stars Daughter's Second Pony   July 15, 2008

My daughter loves this... She says her baby has a boo-boo and takes care of her...It's a cute toy... When I have to take her to the doctor I'll show what the doctor is going to do to her with this toy... And when she was sick I gace the pony (fake)medicine with the spoon it comes with and then proceeded to give my daughter her medicine.... Overall this is a good toy...

4 out of 5 stars My 6 year old really l ikes this, but I find it annoying!   May 18, 2008

After lots of begging and saving I let my six year old buy one of these several weeks ago. I thought they were ugly and unpleasant, but that is clearly an adult view point - or maybe just mine. It has a hard plastic head and a soft body. My daughter loved it instantly and has kept it together and used it often. She finds it very cute and is more careful of it than many of her other toys

It comes iwth a box of tissues (in reality a couple of bits of cloth in plastic - you can't get them out really, a thermometer, a spoon for medicine and a stethoscope. She looks after her baby which has various speeches to make depending what you touch - so if the bandaid is removed and put back on it says "I have a boo boo" - the heart beat sounds when you touch the chest, and so on.

I find it cloying but my 6 year old loves it. I hope your little girl loves it too!
