4 out of 5 stars Fun Toy, but limited response   November 17, 2008
madmax (Salt Lake City, UT)
My 3 yr old daughter recently got this and she loves it! She loves the adorable bag and the cute sounds and movements the dog makes. The only downside is that it only responds to touch in one spot on the back. She pets it head but it doesn't recognize the attention unless it is touched/pet in that one spot. It can be put to sleep (and snores when you do) by holding the spot down on its back for 3-5 seconds. Very cute movements, not too loud when it does makes noise and can be turned off. It does have a hard body, but my daughter still loves to hug it and carry it around. If this was a $10-15 toy I would recommend it to everyone, but for $20 I think that is a little much (I would consider upgrading to the motion senstive cat).

3 out of 5 stars Very cute little yapper   August 25, 2008

My 4 year old just HAD to have this toy. For the first few days, she would not leave it alone. It is cute - its head moves, eyes blink, and it has a very realistic, very annoying little yap. Be warned. The realism includes little pointy teeth as well, but they are cute. When Mom insists the dog go to sleep now or else, you can rub (press) his back and it snores for a little while before turning off. The front legs bend to a sitting or standing position, but the back does not. The bag is well-made and easy to fit the dog into. However, this toy is not cuddly in the slightest - he has a hard (bony, I guess) body (-1 star). Additionally, the mechanics are VERY noisy, detracting from the overall realism (-1 star). Less than a month in and he now sits on a shelf - mostly due on her part to the cuddle factor.

Bottom line: This could easily be a high impact, make you the star gift giver kind of gift. However, I cannot see it having long staying power for any child due to the lack of cuddliness, limited movements, and noisy mechanics.

4 out of 5 stars Cute little doggie   July 24, 2008
M. Hammon (Decatur, IL USA)
I bought this purse and dog for my granddaughter's third birthday. She fell in love with it and has lots of fun making it do it's doggie tricks. I don't know how long it will last, but she's loving it now.

4 out of 5 stars Super cute, not a lot of movement   April 5, 2008

Really cute little dog with the range of motion and size of the newborn pets. We have many pets and I thought for the price it would have more movement or responses. The bag makes this a really cute set. In fact the bag is great. It has a beautiful feel to it and the fabric is great. For the price I would look at Wal-Mart, because their teacup sets come with clothes for the dog too(for the same price).
