Great Toy May 15, 2008 Rvndl (San Ramon, CA) The chihuahua is great! If you don't have one, you better get one!!!It is wonderful! I just love the Webkinz chihuahua!!! It is cute, friendly playful, soft, and has a really adorable expression on its face. So, get the chihuahua today!
The first Chihuahua I've ever met that I liked. April 22, 2008 lighten_up_already2 (Kirkland, WA USA) First of all, it's very cute, and my five year old boy is in love with it, and the idea of selling cute stuffed animals that have a second life in a web world for kids is brilliant. But, know what you are getting into when you by one of these. And before I continue, I just want to say that this is our second Webkinz toy. The actual plush Chihuahua toy is the same size as the others, but the Webkinz "live" version is significantly smaller than the first Webkinz we bought. Even in magnification mode, it's hard to see the features in detail. First, you'll of course have to get the pet "adopted" on the Webkinz web site. Then, you'll have to study the online user manual for the Webkinz web site because unless your child has a certain reading ability, maybe fourth grade, they won't be able to read it all by themselves. Then of course, you'll have to teach your child what you learned. You might be with your child for a few hours at this site while you both learn your way around. With a five year old it is going to take a while. Of course, you may view it as a bonding experience, so it's not all bad, but there is a time commitment you make when you get one of these. Supposedly the age range for Webkinz begins at five, but the skill required to earn enough "Kinz Cash" is beyond most five year olds. So, if your child is very young you'll likely have to sit with him or her at the computer just to navigate various activities on the site, and then go in after your kids are alseep and make more "Kinz Cash" for them yourself. (I just wonder how many thousands of parents there are across the country pounding through quizzes designed for children because these are by far the fastest way to make money for their children to spend in the virtual world of their kid's Webkinz critter.) Finally, your pet's life is one year on the site unless you buy more Webkinz toys or buy a renewal of your pet at the end of one year. They want to hook you into spending more money. I'm glad these cute little things don't cost too much. So, now you have an idea of what you are committing to when you buy one of these toys. Good luck!
A beloved toy February 18, 2008 AK (Orlando, FL USA) Whether or not you think the Webkinz online fun is educational or not, this little toy is a beloved part of our house. One that my daughter will remember when she is older. We all had those toys when we were young and no one really paid attention to whether is was "teaching us anything". They are well made toys and the online fun is just that...fun. I think that is the purpose of a toy.
Webkinz Chihuahua January 30, 2008 D. Anderson (Warren, MI.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The item is a real Webkinz, new tags and all. I purchased it as an addition to my collection, I am trying to get the very first ones made and especially looking for those without the Magic "W". I believe there are other ways for a child to be educated and entertained. A short period of time with a Webkinz on a computor might be better used as a reward for other responsibilites that have been well done by a child.
Love this little guy January 10, 2008 Natalie J. Cook (Little Elm, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got 2 Webkinz for Christmas, and I love playing with them. The website at times is very slow and is down for very long peiords of time, but I like it. The quiz questions are fun.
