Spencer looks like a bullet train. My kid plays with Spencer and Emily more than Thomas and Edward.
But this take along diecasts in general are really well made. Even with constant mishandling, and dropping from a chest-high table, no problem (as long as they dont fall on your toes).
Buy the roundtable dock/housing. You'll be happy to hear your kids manufacture story lines as they play.

Grandson now has about 28 Thomas and Friends toys and enjoys them all. He spends hours playing with them and is really getting into trains.

My son loves all the Thomas characters, especially Spencer. The take along size is nice, containing all the details of the larger versions. Since my son is not yet 3, this whole series is our preference. (It is rated for 2+)
