Editorial Review This crazy soccer game is the perfect introduction to team sports for preschoolers. The plastic goal is sized just for smaller people and the miniature soft foam ball is easy on little feet. A goofy talking goalie is built right into the goal posts to shout out encouragement and challenges so kids can improve their game. The goalie wiggles back and forth as kids try to score and does some lighthearted trash-talking with expressions such as "Try and get it past these moves," and "Kick that thing in here." When kids score a goal, they are rewarded with cheering crowd sounds and congratulatory remarks from the goalie, such as "Nice shot, kid!" along with a response from the ball itself. An easy-to-operate ball release lever sends the ball down the goal's ramp and out on the lawn for more soccer playing. The goal operates via four "C" batteries (not included) and requires some help from adults to get it assembled. --Cristina Vaamonde
Product Description Ready, aim, kick! Can you get the ball past the wigglin', jigglin' goalie? He will challenge, tease and encourage you to kick the ball into the goal. If you succeed, you score a point and the "crowd" will cheer. You'll also hear from the ball when you get it in the net. Then, push the ball release and send the ball back out for more fun with your friends. Includes: electronic module, plastic goal and goalie, net, two plastic hands, two plastic soccer shoes, ball- return base, label sheet and instructions. Requires 4 "C" alkaline batteries (not included). For 1 or more players.

Nice, but ball is not durable July 20, 2006 F. Koo (Los Angeles, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Despite the negative comments, I got this anyway so my little 2-year-old could have some exercise indoors. The goal is not too big, so it is a good size for inside the house. The ball is very cute and soft, but unfortunately, he took a bite right away out of the ball and a big chunk came out, so it is not very durable. We find that other balls work just as well. The goal is not too bad. Maybe it's a redesign, because the speaker is on top and I can hear perfectly. It's not difficult to put together, but rather fun. You have to pay attention to the shape of the connections because it's like a puzzle. If you get it right, then everything fits great. The baseboard flips up to tip the ball out. But my 2-year-old is easily distracted and isn't really shooting goals yet. I think maybe a target inside the goal would be more helpful to teach baby how to play soccer, though.
Very small and provides only minutes of entertainment January 8, 2006 Bill Lund (New Hope, PA USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son received the Silly Soccer net as well as a plain net for his birthday at around age 2 or 3. I had wanted to keep the plain net, but I was overruled by my wife (who had purchased the Silly Soccer gift). The net worked fine and did provide some entertainment, but became useless within a year while the other net would still be in heavy use. It is very small - both the ball and the net. I would thus recommend it for people who would like to use it in tight areas. This forced my son to be more precise with his kicks, which sounds like a good thing, but wound up taking the exercise part out of the sport to be replaced instead with frustration and lack of confidence. I'm writing this review since I am now online looking for a roughly 3 feet by 4 feet net.
Big Waste Of Money December 6, 2005 JnKsMome (Levittown, NY United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this to for christmas '04' Put it together and the kids started to play. The things it said made my kids laugh but it fell apart so fast. We had to keep putting the net on ,then when we would move it the hands and feet would fall off. The only fun thing about the whole toy was the soft soccer ball. THis is a very POOR designed toy. What a waste of money....
Don't bother October 11, 2005 Concerned buyer (Peabody, MA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
My son asked for this toy when he was 3 and he got it for christmas. Not even a uear later it was in the trash. It was fun for a little while, but very flimsy. I wish I never bought it.
made in china, barely works June 23, 2005 geena (texas) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this toy today, and it barely works. Half the time it is on, the other half sounds like it is shorting out or is off (even though it is supposed to be on). This toy was disappointing to the kids, doesn't work, talk, move, as much as the box says.
