5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Indoors   November 21, 2008

I bought this for my son in August of 2007, and he still plays with it. We wanted something to add to our collection of indoor games for our "playroom," which we use a lot during winter months. It's been an easy way to keep my son active all year round.

I wouldn't recommend using the bowling ball on tile, but we have a nice flat carpet in our play area, so using this set indoors isn't a problem for us. The pins are made of a durable plastic, so we haven't had any issues with cracking or chipping.

Even if your child has trouble putting their fingers in the holes, they can still easily roll the ball into the pins. With the extra little balls inside each pin, it makes a great sound when the pins are knocked down, making it more realisitic for the little ones.

If you are looking for other games that can be played indoor or outdoor, I recommend Little Tikes TotSports Basketball Set.

5 out of 5 stars Great Bowling Set!!   January 9, 2008

We got this set for our 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. He loves it! I was worried that he would want to play with the little balls inside, but he never tried to. He's really good at setting up the pins and rolling the ball. It was a great gift for him.

4 out of 5 stars Immediate fun!   January 3, 2008

Christmas gift for 4 year old boy who is part of an actual bowling league. This item was opened and played with immediately. He became creative and set pins in positions other than "normal" and had great fun.

5 out of 5 stars Great Fun   November 23, 2007

This is a great toy. We bought it for our 2 year old and she loves it. Granted, she doesn't quite understand to ROLL the ball and just holds it in her hands and knocks the pins down. She also enjoys just playing with the pins and shaking the balls around. We also "invented" a game where I place each bowling pin around the house in various location (in plain view for a 2 year old) and she runs around laughing and shrieking with the ball to go "find" all the pins and knock them down. With a younger child this is going to be an interactive toy. Don't expect your 2 year old to be able to set up bowling pins and then roll the ball and knock them down. You will have to set the pins up for your child (or at least help your child) and then supervise with the ball to make sure the hard plastic doesn't get thrown or smashed into anything around the house. This is not a toy I'd just dump on the floor and let my 2 year old play with due to both developmental need for help as well as the hard plastic on the ball. I still give this toy a 5 star rating because the toy is still a good time with even a younger toddler as an interactive, superivised activity. And there is definitely room to grow into the toy to where an older toddler/child can use it more on their own.

3 out of 5 stars The balls inside pins annoying!   June 11, 2007

My daughter who is two loves bowling and I thought this would be the perfect gift for her. She was excited for about five minutes when we opened it up. She then became so distracted by the balls inside that she did not want to bowl but get the little balls out and play with them instead. It took a lot but we mangaged to get them out. I would recommend buying a bowling set without the little balls inside, especially if your child is a toy ball lover.
