Editorial Review
This cute, red plastic ladybug isn't going to fly away home because she's really a two-piece junior sandbox. And, you're going to put a couple of 50-pound bags of sand in her. But that's okay; she's just the right size for the kind of beach-kid who is very interested in eating the grainy stuff. She's 34 inches in diameter, 6 inches deep, and has a raised leaf design on the bottom. Her shell is decorated with a central groove and three pairs of dots, and is connected to the base with a black plastic tether. Big black, green, and white eyes (and a little red nose) give her a winsome expression. --Richard Farr

Product Description
Bring the beach to your backyard with the Step2 Ladybug Sandbox! Designed to resemble a real, playful ladybug, the Step2 Ladybug Sandbox is small enough for even the tiniest of backyards to accommodate. The lid is attached to the base, so it will never get lost, and it's a 'snap' to keep debris out of the sandbox! Little ones will have hours of fun digging, shoveling and building castles with this sandbox from Step2!

4 out of 5 stars Nice sandbox   November 8, 2008
T. Davis (Fort Collins, CO United States)
This is a nice sandbox, but it is a little small like other reviewers have pointed out. My 2 year old daughter and her few toys pretty much fill it up. Good for 1 or 2 small children. If she has a friend over one of them usually sits outside the box.

This is perfect for a small yard or patio. Little ones love it and it is great because it is not expensive and comes with a lid.WBA! Perfect for little ones outside limited play areas.

5 out of 5 stars Smaller Than Some But Still Lots of Fun!   July 18, 2008
A. Tittle (Texas)
This sandbox is smaller than most but is still a lot of fun for my kids! My kids (6 & 2) fit in there together. I uploaded a pic of them in it to show the actual size. It works for us! We love it.

5 out of 5 stars Cute sandbox for small yards   July 7, 2008
Designer X (Milwaukee, WI)
This is a great sandbox for small urban yards. I gave it to my niece for her second birthday and she loves playing in it.

3 out of 5 stars This is a good sandbox but not great..   September 15, 2007

This sandbox is a little small. It's perfect for one child but not two as some of the reviews said. My one-year-old daughter had a friend over and the two of them could barely fit in there together with a few toys. The worst part of this sandbox is the top. Since it is attached it is awkward and in the way when the sandbox is open. Also, it would be nice if it was a tight fitting top. Instead the top just sits on top of the box. Unfortunately it is loose enough that the neighborhood cats can just push it off if they want. You need to put something heavy on top if you want to avoid unwanted visitors. But despite all that, it is a nice little sandbox that my daughter enjoys. It serves the purpose that it was purchased for.
