This is great for our 18 months old daughter and we were very happy with the purchase, until we hit the public pool with it. :( Unfortunately every pool we wanted to swim in does not allow these inflatables. Do they pose some sort of risk? Anyway, great float, just make sure you have your own pool.

4 out of 5 stars Happy with purchase   July 6, 2008

I'm happy with the starfish float with canopy. My son is only 4 months but is able to sit up well enough to be pushed around the pool. I think it will be even better once he is old enough to sit upright on his own. However, the float allows me to get him in the pool without having to hold him the whole time. The canopy is great for blocking the sun. I think this is a good way to introduce infants to the water. I would definitely recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars My little girl loved it!!!   May 29, 2008

My daughter is 16months. And she loved swimming around the pool in the star fish. We can't wait until we can get her out in the pool again.

I searched high and low for the perfect floatie for our trip to Miami Beach. I bought 2 different styles for my infant daughter (she was 3 months, 14 lbs) and tested them out at the pool. Both of them deflated after using them. Then right before my trip, I found this floatie at my local grocery store. I came home, blew it up and left it there to see what would happen. It stayed inflated for days. I packed up and took it with us to Miami Beach and used it every single day there. People came up to me to ask where I had bought it from. The canopy is probably the best feature on this thing. It fully protected my daughter from the sun and I was also able to detach the front if I wanted her to get a bit of sun (or to take pictures, etc.....). I was able to lean it on and swim in the ocean with her comfortably. I used this thing every single day for more than 2 weeks. We used it both in the pool and the ocean. It came in contact with sand, A/C, extreme heat - everything and never deflated. NEVER. The front bar makes noise when you squeeze the toys for older kids. My daughter was only 3 months at the time so she could even reach the front but she will love it this summer when she's a year old. This thing is probably the best money I;ve spent on her for summerwear. I know the price is cheaper than the others, and trust me, I am one of those people who will go and buy the more expensive item thinking its better but this thing is better than all those other ones. I will post pics of my daughter in it.
