4 out of 5 stars Strengh is the key...   July 20, 2008
S. West (Baltimore, MD United States)
My 2 1/2 year old has tried this several times now and is one of the kids who tips forward face first into the water. I realize that the difference with her and other kids I've seen using this independently is trunk strength. My girl is simply too weak to keep her trunk balanced (ie butt down) in the water. If I'd known that this was the key I would have predicted she'd have a hard time. She still can't go up steps without using her hands.
I think she'll get much more/better use out of this next summer when she's 3. I don't condemn the Trainer though. It's the kid that wasn't ready for it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Swim Aid for Kids !!   July 17, 2008
Terrie Watson (Alabama)
This is a great swim aid for kids !! It took my grand daughter a little while to figure out how to balance without getting her face wet. After about 30 minutes she was good to go. It is a pleasure to take her to the pool without her hanging on my neck. With this swim suit on she can float with me as well as paddle around without fear. We are always close at hand but she can do it all by her self. It makes a pool outing very nice. Thanks !!
For those that have given this product a bad review....Make sure the tube is inflated to the limit. Always stay close by the child. It will take a little while for them to figure out the balance thing. But it is worth every penny !! It has made my summer GREAT !!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Really great for a 3 year old child   July 12, 2008
R. Zimmer (Atlanta)
I don't know how anyone with a small child can do without one of these. They are simply THE BEST swim aid on the market. Don't inflate it and then set it out in the sun to dry, though. It WILL explode. My 2, almost 3 year old girl has absolutely no fear of the water (I know, kinda scary) because this thing helps her so much in the water. She paddles along completely alone and jumps in the water by herself, too, with this (goes underwater when she jumps in and everything, and comes up sputtering and laughing every time). AWESOME! Of course, as everyone knows, there's no substitute for parental supervision, but this is a really good little helper.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic, but needs arm floats for toddlers   July 3, 2008
No One Of Notice (Elmhurst, IL USA)
My almost 3-year-old daughter has been using this for a month now and it is wonderful. If she wears arm floats on her arms and this suit, she can be completely independent in the water. Of course, I am ALWAYS sure to be within arms reach of her just in case, but she doesn't need to be holding on to anyone or anything and she is free to paddle around however she wants. She's usually a pretty cautious girl, but she had absolutely no fear getting into the water in this. And I can see that she is really learning the basic mechanics of being in the water because of the freedom to move around on her own.

The fabric is very durable and the float part easy to inflate with a foot pump (I don't know if just blowing into it would work, since I didn't try).

Make sure to pair this with some arm floats (the same company makes ones that I picked up at a local drugstore for $[...], but I've tried others also and they all work fine).

5 out of 5 stars How durable is this toy   June 18, 2008
C. Osborn (Phoenix, AZ)
This works great my son won't swim without it-however he's so big for it I have to cut the bottom of the suit portion off. As long as you store it inside and out of the heat these last.
