My kids LOVE this! October 6, 2008 mommy of two (Utah) This was purchased for the grandparents house. My 5 year old helped his grandpa put it together the first time without any difficulty or problems. Even my 21 month old was helping out. They had hours of fun the first time and were making new shapes (a rocket ship and other suggestions shown on the papers inside). The grandparents think it is wonderful and perfect for playing with at their house. It comes apart to store back in the case very easily. My kids ask daily when they can play with their "build a ship". No problems with the set up or with it coming apart. Everything works great and is easy for children and adults. This is great for kids who like to build and make things. It is very durable (my 5 year can be tough on toys especially when he is a pirate) Highly recommend!
Great concept but falls apart too easily August 24, 2008 Shelley David 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have a Cranium Super Fort & love building things with it. I bought the Spongex Pirate Ship for my 4 year old's pirate birthday party thinking we could play with it long after the party but it falls apart so easily that I doubt anyone will want to play with it again. Just as you click one end together the other side falls apart - so it is frustrating. I was hoping it might work with the Cranium version (I couldn't tell from the write up) but it is an entirely different system. The Cranium Super Fort is a superior product (although it doesn't have the cool pirate panels) and stands up much better than the spongex product. I also found that the kids had trouble putting the Spongex together while they have no trouble putting the Cranium version together themselves.
