4 out of 5 stars Naturally Playful Front Porch Playhouse   June 1, 2007

It was easy to put together and strudy enough. What I was disappointed to find out is that the inside of the house does not have a floor.

4 out of 5 stars Great toy...   April 21, 2007

I recently purchased this outdoor playhouse for my 21-month-old daughter. I found the product online, but was able to get it at Toys R Us for about the price online (and I didn't have to pay shipping). Overall, it is a great toy. Seems to be big enough for 2 children to play inside together, but there are other things to do outside and around the playhouse if there are more than 2 children.

One downside is the entrance into the playhouse. The porch leads into the house but is not level with the ground and leaves a step down which children can easily trip over. My daughter stumbled the first time she entered the house, but now is aware that she needs to watch her step.

My daughter loves the skylight, mail slot, doorbell, and phone...all big crowd pleasers. The front bench is very fun and sturdy. There could be more to play with inside the house, but I guess that what imaginations are for.

The only reason this playhouse did not get 5 stars is because of the safety issue with the front porch leading into the house. The manufacturers could have thought that idea out a bit better.

3 out of 5 stars BIG price BIG disapointment   May 7, 2006

We just bought this playhouse for our 3 year old daughter. It is very cute however it is VERY small inside. I don't think more than one child can fit inside at one time. In fact we had to take out the shelf and the sink just to make enought room to move around. If the toy r us store had not had to take it out of the box to fit it in our SUV we would definatly be taking this back. I am very disapointed at the size for $300.00. Think twice before buying this playhouse!

3 out of 5 stars Very cute, great idea but very deceiving   April 13, 2006

This was a great looking playhouse and my husband and I were so excited to bring it home to our 2 year old daughter. When my husband was half way through putting it together, he mentioned that the plastic was very cheap and he didn't like it. After he finished putting it together we both said that it was way too small on the inside. My neighbor's daughter who is 4, came over and went inside, she said it was too small and that she didn't like it. My daughter played with it for a little while but then seemed to get bored. She wanted the 4 year old to come inside and play with her, but it was too uncomfortable so they both came out. There is really no way that you can fit more than one child in this.
Also, I really don't see my daughter playing with it when she is 3, in fact the second day that we had it set up; she didn't even want to play with it. Sorry Step 2, we also had to return it. We exchanged it for the Storybook Cottage (also by Step 2); It' more money, but soooooooo much better.

3 out of 5 stars TOO SMALL   April 13, 2006

We bought this playhouse for our daughter's 2nd B-day. First of all, let me say it is a beautiful playhouse! The door-bell doesn't ring loudly and the play phone rings the same way. It was very easy to build, but it took two people, for holding purposes. The front porch is very roomy but as you enter into the house it's VERY SMALL inside, 30 1/2 wide by 41 1/2 long!!!
Overall, the house is quite large appearing as you view from the outside. The inside is LITTLE. I really can't see two children being able to play in the house part without knocking into each other. I really liked the porch idea but i just didn't realize that it took away sooo much inside the house section. I really like Step2 and we have several of their products but this one will have to go back. Sorry Step2!
