Great Fun for Kids of All Ages - Even Age 65!!!! May 16, 2008 mousefan I purchased this storybook cottage for my grand daughter, age 20 months and my grandson age 4. Both of them were trying to go in it while we were assembling it. The sides are completely assembled and all you have to do is insert the sides to the front and put in a few screws to hold it in place, then the back slides on and you put in a few more screws. The roof beam sets across the top and the chimney goes on and screwed down. Then the two sloping roof pieces slide perfectly into place and are screwed down. The kitchen sink and stove snap into place inside and the door handle goes on. Two people assembled the cottage in less than an hour. The kids just love it and it looks great in the yard amongst the trees and flowers, just like a little cottage in the woods in a story book. The family is thinking of dressing up in fairy tale costumes and taking a group photo with the house. I know this little cottage will be a big hit with the young cousins at the birthday party this summer. I even found myself in it and have a photo of me looking out the window, so even big kids (like me)love it too!
imaginative play zone July 30, 2007 J. Radalin (Upstate New York) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We got this playhouse for our 2 kiddos last Christmas. The "wow" factor was huge Christmas morning. It didn't even take Santa more than 45 minutes to put together on Christmas Eve. We keep it in our dining room so there's all-weather, all-hours fun. I love the neutral tones and cottage look--fits right in with our decor and isn't a huge primary-color nightmare. I "tricked it out" inside and out with Christmas lights, and it looks "enchanting" (my 4-year-old daughter's word) when it's plugged in at night. The lights are essential at night and also make a huge difference during the day, even though the house is near a bright window. Since the little kitchen area's window is against a wall, we hung a little mirror on the wall so that the kids look out on themselves when they're doing dishes, instead of the boring wall. Overall, this is an amazing place for our kids to play and entertain their friends. Anytime we have an indoor party, I know that the visiting kids and our kids will be drawn to the house for at least half an hour, giving us grown-ups our chit-chat time. The flip-up tables on the inside and outside aren't absolutely perpendicular to the wall, so things roll off, and they're not the sturdiest tables in the world, but I am sure they could be fixed with a little jury-rigging. With seating for four, it's a ready-made kids' table for mealtime, and adding one or two additional kid's "picnic tables" ensures there's enough fun seats for everyone during party time. I just asked my daughter, "What do you like best about your playhouse?" and she said, "Well, it looks like a party house. I make a lot of parties in there." So, there you have it!
Adorable ! June 23, 2007 JeannieB 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the most adorable playhouse out there. The colors, the style, everything. My kids love it, the neighborhood kids love it, my dog loves it, it's constructed well and it just looks great in our back yard. It's more expensive than the other playhouses out there but you'll never get sick of looking at it. Worth every penny.
finally. a playhouse that's not an eyesore!! February 28, 2007 B. B. (Baltimore, MD) This playhouse is the best! We bought this for Christmas for our five children. I was initially hesitant about buying a playhouse due to the unattractive look that playhouses become over time. I applaud the decision of STEP 2 to produce products with a neutral palate because this product looks as good as the day we bought it!! We live in the hot Arizona sun, and the colors look as crisp as the day we bought it. Well worth the money--great design and very durable.

My twin girls love this cottage. It was so easy to put together. We have it in our living room/playroom. It's the perfect size cottage, for our girls.
