What this kite taught me... May 18, 2007 Llera. A. (Yucca Valley, CA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been flying kites my whole life and I have never wasted more time or money on a kite than I did with this one. I was excited to purchase this item because it seems like it would be really neat. The plus side is that it's easy to assemble. That is the only thing good about this kite. When I began assembling it I was very disappointed to see the actual kite is no where near as cute as the picture... which is a picture of the concept art this kite was designed from. I live in an area where there is enough wind to fly a kite 365 days a year and this kite would not fly. Oh sure it would get airborne, but it never made it higher than 15 feet off the ground. At about 10 feet it would do one of two things... either dive right into the dirt or it would begin flying in circles so sporadicly that you can't even grab the line or it will cut your fingers. Once it begins flying in circles it begins tangling itself in the line, and also in the plastic flight tails which are included... Once the kite has made sure it is nice and tangled it slams itself into the dirt, then providing much frustration and untangling time. This was one of the first Ripstop Nylon kites I have ever bought and I will never buy another "3D Fantasy" Kite. The fact that it's 3D is probably what makes it so unflyable. Sure, Box kites are 3D too but not in the style that this one is. I wasted a whole afternoon trying to get this into the air with the same result every time. I repeat! This kite is a huge was of money and time! All it is good for is frustrating fliers and crashing into the ground, and at this price it's not worth keeping for a wall ornament either.
so stinkin' cute!!!!!! February 9, 2007 N. Robinson (MODESTO, CA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this kite at Costco for my daughter. I knew it would be cute and rather large, but my expectations were exceeded! She is so cute and my daughter loves it! I also bought her "sister" for my niece, I haven't been this interested in kites since, I was a little girl. Buy it....you'll like it!
