2 out of 5 stars Disappointed in Disney Product   November 26, 2008
Cathy L. Huestis (evansville, in)
I bought this for my daughter for her 6th birthday. She really wanted it and she was so excited when she opened the gift. First problem is that 4 of 10 poles were missing so we could not even set it up. Upon further inspection, I found a tear in it. Also 2 of the places the poles are supposed to go are sewn together - so even if I had all the poles, we would have to cut the fabric to put them in place. My daughter was heartbroken. I went online thinking I would order another one and I found most reviews were poor on the product. I usually read reviews, but my daughter wanted it so bad that I did not even do my research. I learned a lesson.

2 out of 5 stars My daughter was frustrated   November 25, 2008
S. Hernandez (Florida USA)
My daughter was excited when she saw the box at the store. We took it home, and after assembling the tent, she couldn't be more unhappy. The actual "castle" doesn't look anything like the illustration on the box. The towers leaned, the fabric was totally wrinkled, and the whole thing looked just crooked, despite several attempts from my older son and my husband to straighten it. The lights wouldn't work. It looked cheap and tacky. We ended up returning it three days later. My favorite foldable playhouse so far? the one from Discovery Toys. Durable, spacious, easy to store and transport. The downside: it's not shaped or decorated like a princess castle.

3 out of 5 stars Easy pop-up, impossible to put back   November 18, 2008
M. Su (Los Angeles, CA USA)
This patented easy pop-up sure was easy. Soon as we took it out of the bag, it popped open even before I get a chance to see how it unravelled. The problem is it's nearly impossible to shrink this back down and the instructions were completely useless.

My wife bought this for our puppy as a pee pee room, she thought it was 24" x 24" the shipping size... didn't realize it's actually 5 feet by 5 feet. Well, there's no way to return this because I can't even shrink this back in the packing box. So we are stuck with it.

It is decent made, fairly cute, assembly is a bit weak, it's actually good for puppy, not sturdy enough for active child, and it takes up a lot of space. Once you set it up, too lazy to take it back down with all those rods.

2 out of 5 stars Shoddy craftmanship   November 17, 2008

This tent did not hold up to my 18-month old daughter for 3 days of play. It began to bend and lean almost from the get-go. It no longer will stand up by itself. This product is not worth its price.

2 out of 5 stars So cute, but disappointing   October 27, 2008

I bought this tent for my eldest daughter's 4th birthday - yesterday. I have to say, I'm disappointed with this product. It's adorable and it looks like it's pictured...but they say it's so easily portable and has the easy twist pop up...but that's only half of it. I set it up in our master bedroom, only to not be able to get it out the door. And because it's probably best to have two people set up (just for the size - it's awkward for one to do)...I have yet to disassemble so that we can move it to it's permanent home. See, the pop up part is great, but it also has 4 rods holding up the sides of the structure, another 4 rods in the top cone part and two more rods in the turrets on each side. So it's really not all that portable.

Also, the light up archway has a battery pack that is placed at the base of the doorway under the arch...accessible to all children who play inside. Well, after about an hour of play and repeated instruction not to play with it, our 2 yr old ripped the batteries from the electric leads and it will never light up again. Also, within a short period of playtime, our 2 yr old was pulling and pushing the sides of the tent...and the rods were pushing through the material. Although the 2 yr old is now banned, this product really doesn't hold up well to any kind of rough play. Even an energetic game of hide and seek might cause damage.

Bottom line, if it wasn't damaged, I'd likely be returning it. Not only was I really hoping for a completely pop up (no rods) tent, but it's just too fragile for our house.
