Waste of money January 7, 2009 ronijob This took a long time to pump up, the first time we used it, it got a puncture. Not very happy at all. A lot of money to waste on one use.
Great fun, but disappointing in durablilty January 7, 2009 E. Dormer (Pennsylvania) I purchased the Giga Ball for my daughters for Christmas. They are 5 and 10 years old. They were very excited about it and had a great time with it... for about 3 days. Although the description states that the ball is made of durable vinyl and is suitable for outdoor play and can support up to 130 pounds inside the ball, the reality is much different. The product is the same material as swimming pool inflatables, not the heavy vinyl I was envisioning. It punctures easily and after 3 days, we have 2 holes in the ball. Now, I have disappointed children and an expensive, useless toy.
Super fun - super disappointing January 7, 2009 C-bug Mom (Tennessee) The giga ball was the only thing my child was interested in for Christmas. Since we only do 1 Santa gift and a stocking, we hoped it would live up to her expectations. I think it has for her, but the adults in the family are a bit annoyed. When pumping up the ball, I noticed an unsealed seam on one of the baffles. That one small section would not blow up at all but the rest did, so I turned it over and put the bow on the blown up section. She was so excited and LOVED playing in the ball. Unfortunately, baffles started blowing out all over the place on the very first day! There was one obvious puncture that was easily repaired with gorilla tape, but the seams of the baffles keep coming apart and are not repairable (at least not by me). She continues to insist on using the ball (by the way she weighs 38 lbs. so I'm surprised it's not holding up a little longer), so we frantically pump it up and let her go down the hill once then start all over again. She is completely opposed to returning it to the north pole for another. Great idea, but needs a better design (or seam sealer) and a better repair kit.
Daughter loves it! January 6, 2009 T. Huston (Freeburg, IL) My daughter, who is 10 now, has asked for this for Christmas for several years now and I would never buy it because I didn't think it would be durable. Her and her friends have played with it indoors non-stop since Christmas. A few of the clear bubbles have deflated, but I have not checked to see why - if it is a hole in the plastic or what the problem is.
Giga Ball January 6, 2009 Elaine K. (Washington, DC) This ball is huge and takes up a lot of space inside. Also blowing it up presents some problem, so I would definitely get the pump that comes with it. Overall makes a great wow factor, but should be used primarily outside and unless you live in Ca. or Fl, kinda out of question for the Christmas season.
