Almost like 2 tea sets in one! August 1, 2008

Well, this just arrived today and my 2-year old daughter went right for it. It comes in a mesh/net package that we tore apart easily enough. I really liked the nice, bright primary color scheme of this play set...as far as the educational aspects of this toy, I would consider this the main one. I can imagine my daughter setting up a red place setting, an all blue place setting, and so on. We are still working on learning colors (she calls most things "pink!"), so this set also provides me with a natural way to incorporate a little color practice into her fun play time. Something else about this set that sets it apart from others is that it comes with 2 full sets of knives, forks and spoons (one larger and one smaller set of each - this could be good for comparing sizes), as well as 2 sets of plates, 2 sets of cups, a set of bowls and some other misc. items like the teapot and tray. I took about 1/2 of the items upstairs to our office/family room and left the others with her kitchen and play food that currently reside in the living room. She still has plenty of silverware and dishes for each location.
Incidentals: this set is made in Germany, the items are made of what I would describe as "medium-hard" plastic that has some flexibility (I wouldn't think it would splinter apart or crack if dropped or stepped on, the tray is the perfect size for small hands to carry around, yet has plenty of surface space to pile lots of dishes on.
I think my daughter will really enjoy this set for a quite a while. I am overall very pleased with this purchase.
