Product Description A soft, interactive book which encourages children to practice age-appropriate skills. Learning to tie, snap and buckle are just a few of the activities in which children can participate. My Quiet Book is an ideal book to take in the car or on trips.
Editorial Review This darling cloth book offers hands-on experience in recognizing shapes, telling time, buttoning, buckling, snapping, lacing, distinguishing textures, and zipping. The soft red book measures 8 inches and has a sturdy red zipper around three sides, with soft stuffed handles on top. Three bright balloons and "My Quiet Book" are embroidered on the front. Inside are four stiff white fabric-covered pages featuring eight different activities. There are quilted shapes in primary colors with Velcro attachments, a clock with movable hands, pastel quilted flowers that button onto their stems, and bright quilted balloons that snap onto their strings. There's a buckle to thread on a pair of denim shorts, white laces to secure a red and yellow tennis shoe, bright squares of differently textured fabrics for touching, and a zipper to fasten a floral dress. Each page is lovingly finished and features a prominently placed embroidered skill title. This book is great for skill learning at home and even better as a traveling companion! --Tami Horiuchi

Great Granddaughter Day November 1, 2007 Norene A. Lee 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this book for my great grandaughter and she just loves it. It keeps her occupied in the car, which is priceless. Also she loves to zip and unzip the zipper and put her little fingers in the dress. The book is very cute and well worth the price. It came with a pledge that any missing pieces are replaced free - so this book will be handed down for generations.
Quiet, soft activity book September 15, 2007 T. Eve. (So. Cal) My child is 2.5 and can manipulate all the objects in this book. She likes it and has fun with it. I'm glad I bought this for her.
Fantastic Gift and Well-Loved March 19, 2006 M. Ritterpusch (Clear Lake, WI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We bought this for our 1-year-old daughter, and although she can't do all of the activities, she loves to try! This is one of her favorite toys to have in her crib, and she is playing with 1 out of 2 mornings when I go to her room to get her up in the morning. One review said that you can make this on your own. I agree, to an extent. I *could* make this, but by the time I had gotten everything to look as nice and be as high a quality, I would have spent hours and hours and a lot more money on materials than just buying it. My daughter loves it, and I am extremely pleased with it.
My Quiet Book February 21, 2006 Gordon H. Nagai 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My grandson received this for his 1 year birthday, and had a ball with it....he loves pulling the various objects from their respective pages, and tries to put them back - while not as accurate in returning the pieces to their right location in the book, he still has a ball pulling them off...
Overpriced and not meant for a baby! December 28, 2005 K. Henrikson 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I think the concept is good, but is way above a 12 month old to do. I got it thinking it would be a good activity for my baby to do when she is expected to sit quietly and I can pay attention to what I need to (ie. in church, class, etc.). But, she is clueless and can't do anything with it unless I actually do it with her (therefore distracting me). My three year old had more fun with it, but thought it was most fun to take all the pieces off and instantly created a lost and found game for mommy and daddy! She was able to finally put it all back together except for the snaps, which were very hard to snap (I even struggled to get them resnapped). Also, even though this is a very nicely made product, I was very disappointed for what I got compared to the price we payed!! Granted, there is a lot of work involved in making one of these, but $25.00 (plus shipping) is a bit steep! I returned this item and bought a nice big floor toy with much more activities my baby is able to do and have fun with (although, not quiet. I guess we'll have to find another way to accomplish the "quiet"). Anyway, if you want to pay the price, this would be a nice book for your 2-4 year old.
