Product Description
Chicco Hobby Work Kit is a wonderful backpack that features all the accessories required to build five different friction vehicles. To build each of the vehicles simply follow the instructions on the illustrated cards included with the set and use the included tools. Named "Best Vacation Toy" by Dr. Toy. Requires: 2 "AA" batteries, not included.

Editorial Review
Finally--a construction kit that is more fun than frustrating! The Hobby Work Kit will last for years as your child develops hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilitities, and spatial relations. This ingeniously designed kit has a 6-by-2-inch chassis as its foundation. With the help of brightly colored, sturdy, plastic tools and accessories, little hands driven by big ideas can construct five different vehicles--an airplane, a tow truck, a dump truck, a race car, and a helicopter--following picture instructions on the included cards. The tool set includes a hammer, a wrench, and a screwdriver, plus a battery-run Phillips screwdriver that runs in forward and reverse just slowly enough that a 3-year-old can insert it into a screw without turning off the driver. And here's the real clincher: the kit comes in a plastic case that doubles as a backpack, which makes it a great toy for taking to a friend's house or on vacation. --Sandy Hirsch

5 out of 5 stars Chico Hobby Work Kit   October 19, 2008

I got this for my grandson's 3rd birthday and he loved it. He had a great time using the different tools to build the cars. Having the backpack to keep everything in made his mom happy too.

5 out of 5 stars A great toy for girls, as well as for boys   September 20, 2008

My now 4 year-old daughter received this when she was 3 and she still loves it. When she first got it, she played with the tools and "fixed" things around the house. Now she can build the vehicles by following the picture instructions. A great, durable toy that she will play with on her own for 45-60 minutes at a time. Very educational--improves fine motor skills as she uses the screw driver and assembles pieces, and challenges her reasoning skills as she builds the vehicles to match the pictures. And it is quiet--definitely one of my favorites too!

4 out of 5 stars Great tool toy for a boy or girl!   April 9, 2008

I would highly recommend this tool set for someone who is looking for a nice simple set of tools for their child. I was looking for a tool set that didnt come with a tool bench and was a little more ineractive than just hammering on things. This was the perfect find. I loved that it came with "projects", like putting together a car or helicopter. The battery-powered screwdriver is a really nice addition as well. The tools are hard plastic rather than that softer type and it coming with it's own little backpack makes it a great travel toy. Highly recommend!

I'm impressed with this toy. It doesn't take batteries, except the electric play screwdriver, it seems to be very durable, and colorfully pleasing to the eye.

I think this toy is excellent for eye/hand coordination learning. And great for a "take along toy" as it is cased in it's own backpack.

5 out of 5 stars Super Toy   September 9, 2007

This is a really fun toy. I bought for my 3 year old grandson but can see he is quite ready for it. The toy is so well made and thought out that I am excited for the day in just a few months when he will be able to build the vehicles on the cards. The clear backpack is also a great idea because you can carry it with you and see what is inside. Sturdy toy. I been having fun with it!
