Amazon.com Product Description
Save on batteries with the Bell Night Charger rechargeable headlight for your bike, which runs on NiMH batteries for hassle-free partial charging. The recharger plugs into power outlet, eliminating the need to replace batteries and enabling the light to stay on the bike during recharge. It features a bright Zenon bulb with twin action LEDs and large side portals that help to call attention to you from the front and the side. You'll get longer run times thanks to Bell's Take Me Home battery saver technology--when power drops, light shifts to LED mode, maintaining safe light for up to 200 hours. It also offers a weather-resistant cabinet and an easy-to-install handlebar clamp that requires no tools.

This light was easy to install and has three different light modes.
I like the design and different light modes.
It was a good buy when compared to the other lights available.

I bought it because I lost the charger for my other bike light.Bell Night Charger Rechargeable Bicycle Light

I bought it for my electric scooter. It gives a good beam of light and I also use it in the house as a flashlight. Much better than always replacing batteries. It does hold a charge for a long time.

3 out of 5 stars it worked but....   October 5, 2007

When I opened the light to insert the batteries I was astonished at how lightweight the whole thing is---very lightweight. When I tried to insert the first battery it wouldn't go in properly because the spring that holds the battery in is so flimsy that if bent down-it was crushed. I had to bend it back to some semblance of the original shape to insert the battery.

While I tried to do that, the components began to fall apart, the light element just fell out and dropped into the lining of my chair! It wasn't connected to anything! It was just resting inside the light cabinet. This really annoyed me. I located the element and after some struggles fit it back in the slot. Then I got all the batteries in without bending the other springs.

I began to have some serious reservations about the durability of this product. Can you say CHEAP? I suppose we get what we pay for.

It works (so far). I'm not that impressed with the quality of the light but I'll hold my breath. The whole apparatus could seems destined to fall apart on the next bump.

This is not a solid device. Very light-cheap components-Americans expect something with a little heft. This ain't it.

Note: a pedestrian brushed against my light today. The cheap plastic fell apart. The components scattered on the ground. I tried to put it back together again. Suffice it to say, this shoddy product no longer works. We get what we pay for. Avoid this product!

2 out of 5 stars Great idea...if it only worked!   February 24, 2006

I was thrilled to find that a reasonably priced rechargeable bike light exists. I avoid throw away battery items like some avoid taxes. We have too much toxic stuff in our landfills already an I refuse to add to the this insanity. However, to my great disappointment, the internal workings of the light seem to burn out before ever recharging properly and before the the green light goes on to indicate a full charge. Then the light ceases to function at all. Amazon was great in sending a replacement TWO times, yet the same problem persisted. I checked with BELL too to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong and I wasn't. This light is a great idea, albeit with some definate glitches that need to be worked out by Bell. The two stars are for the great idea.

3 out of 5 stars thought it was great until...   January 31, 2006

I was really happy with this light when I first bought it. It was fairly easy to figure out and not so complicated. It seemed to work well. Easy to install on my bike and seemed like a good idea because you could take off the light and store it in your pocket while you stored your bike. But...the light got stuck and wouldn't come off, so I had to leave it on the bike. A few days after buying the light, it suddenly fell off the bike while I was riding and broke into several pieces. It seems like if I ducktape it, I might be able to get it to work somewhat. I guess you really have to spend more money on bike lights to get a good product. They need to make permanent lights that people won't want to steal and that are reliable.
