Amazon.com Product Description
Put your child on the saddle at an early age with the Kettler Bingo kids' training bicycle. Featuring a high-carbon, step-through steel frame construction, 12-inch pneumatic air tires, and detachable training wheels, the bike helps kids safely discover the pleasures of an outdoor bike ride. It's also safe to ride on paved streets thanks to the closed chain cover and the padded handlebars, which give kids a little extra cushioning should they falter. And because the pre-preschool years are too early to introduce the misery of modern bike seats, the Bingo comes with a padded seat for comfort. Other details include a coaster brake on the rear tire, a front hand brake, and front and rear reflectors. Made in China, the bike is a must for the entry-level bike rider.

5 out of 5 stars The only toy he wants to play with   December 8, 2008
Richard Petersen (San Jose, CA United States)
Our son is a little more than two years old, so we thought this bike might be too advanced for him. But he's trying to keep up with his older sister, and we thought he might be able to skip the tricycle. I agree that three is a good recommended age for this bike, but it depends on the child. Our son still needs some help getting onto it and he occasionally gets stuck on a bump, but riding this bike is the only thing he wants to do. He steers and pedals on his own, and he just won't stop riding it. Other reviewers have mentioned how sturdy the bike is, and that's certainly true. One reviewer complained about the weight. The Kettler is heavier than other bikes, and that might be an issue when it's time to take off the training wheels, but for us this bike has been a huge success. One last benefit (for us at least) is that it's not plastered with Spiderman or SpongeBob designs. Maybe we're old fashioned, but this is just a bike - not a rolling advertisement for a movie or a cartoon.

5 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Money - Great Quality - Easy for Toddler to Ride   August 7, 2008

We bought this for our 2 1/2 year old. She never had a tricycle before this 2-wheel with training wheels. She was SO excited when she received it, even though she was not quite coordinated enough to ride it initially. It is a high quality, heavy bike - but its design allows her to get on it without help and we don't worry about her hurting herself on a 'top tube' (the highest bar on the main bike frame) or get clothes stuck in the chain (great chain guard on all sides). Less than six weeks later, she is able to pedal it by herself. Sometimes she gets stuck and asks for help, but we encourage her to stand on the tallest pedal and she is able to get 'un-stuck' by herself. (Read: it's not too heavy a bike). I LOVE the brightly colored paint scheme (that it is not gender-stereotyped princessy or the like).

Very happy with this sturdy bike! Will never buy a cheap version again. The money spent on this one was well worth it!

5 out of 5 stars Great Bike For Toddler   February 29, 2008
Stroller Snob (Salt Lake City, UT)
We bought this bike as a Christmas gift for our three year old son. Since we live in Utah my son could not ride it outside during the winter months. However, as soon as the sun came out my son wanted to ride his "Bingo Bike" outside. We own a Kettler trike and swingset, and have been impressed with all Kettler products. The bike is very sturdy and is very colorful. I haven't had a problem with the bike -I highly recommend this bike for your little tike!

3 out of 5 stars Fine- but I should have chosen a cheaper bike   January 6, 2008

Kettler makes a heavy duty product. We loved our Kettler tricycle, and so we bought the bike, even though 12" bides can be had for half the cost. The verdict is-- this is a VERY sturdy bike. It is as attractive as the picture makes it seem. The covered chain and padded handle bar are great. HOWEVER, this bike weighs a ton. I think my 4.5 year old would have had an easier time learning to ride a lighter bike. He can do it, but this bike is very heavy. I'm not sure the studiness is worth the extra effort.
Another Flaw-- the training wheel nuts become loose ridiculously easily, making a horrible rattling sound until they are tightened again. Thank goodness we're done with training wheels! I thought I would lose my mind from the noise.
