Amazon.com Product Description Your child will enjoy a classy ride with the pink Roadster, Schwinn's retro-modern take on the classic tricycle. It features a full-steel, heavy-duty frame, scalloped chrome fenders for flare, and a real wood back deck for an added passenger. It has wide design for an extra-low center gravity, helping to prevent tip overs. The sculpted seat is adjustable for growing riders. The cool "moustache-style" chrom handlebar features padded grips, long tassels, and a bell. The front wheel measures 12 inches in diameter and the back wheels measure 8 inches in diameter. About Schwinn Founded in 1895, Schwinn is an American icon that has been synonymous with quality and innovation. They have built some of the best-known and best loved bikes of numerous generations--Aerocycle, Paramount, Phantom, Varsity, Sting-Ray, Krate and Homegrown. Today, Schwinn continues to be a leader in the industry with innovative bikes such as the new Sting-Ray, Rocket mountain bikes, and Fastback road bikes. With a continued dedication to quality, forever synonymous with the Schwinn name, America's most famous bicycle brand looks forward to providing another century of innovation, freedom and performance to people of all ages.
Product Description Featuring unique retro styling and a heavy-duty steel construction, the Schwinn 12" Roadster Trike is a great choice for your youngster's first trike. It has a low center of gravity thanks to a wider profile back, which offers added stability to prevent tipping. The swoopy steel frame has an easy step-through design so your tyke will be comfortable and ready to ride. The Roadster has a bucket seat with an opening on the back for easy carrying, and the seat can be adjusted underneath with twist knob (no tools needed) to five different positions. The handlebars have textured grips and raised ends that help keep the hands from slipping off, and the handlebars can be adjusted using a wrench. The pedals offer colored rubber accents that also provide extra gripping so shoes don't slide off. It also features air-filled tires--12 inches in front, 8 inches in the back--which provide a smoother ride over bumpy surfaces. For added style, this trike comes with a real wooden deck in back with a burned-in Schwinn logo, shiny silver fenders on the front and back tires, a bell on the handlebars (which can be removed), and tassels for added flair coming off the ends of the handlebars (also removable).

23 month old loved this shiny new red bike October 6, 2008 J. Wilder (Greenville SC) My parents purchased this bike for my 23 month old son for an early 2 year old birthday gift. My son is a bit tall for his age (90th %tile) and he fits it perfectly with the seat forward. My only flaw with this bike is that it came with a crack in the wooden board which has the Schwinn name written on it. My father put the bike together and said that the screw/bolt was drawn too tight and cracked the wood. This part was already assembled when shipped to us. My son learned how to peddle in three days and is doing well on steering after a couple of weeks. He loved the tassles on the handlebars, and called it a motorcycle when we pulled the blanket off to reveal the surprise. The tires need inflated a bit, but the bike does not tip and is safe on our slightly inclined driveway. I would definately recommend this bike as a beginner tricycle for a two year old and up.
Worth the Extra Money October 5, 2008 Kim Muller (Florida) This was ordered last week and arrived in perfect condition. The bike itself is absolutely beautiful. It has a retro kind of feel to it, and our neighbor commented that it looks like the "Harley" of tricycles! Contrary to other reviews, nothing smelled bad, including the tires. My husband put it together in about fifteen minutes, and nothing needed to be adjusted or changed. Everything fit together perfectly. We gave it to my son for his 2nd birthday, and he LOVES it! He can't peddle yet, but he loved using his feet to get it to move, and he was outside with it for about a half hour. We now have to hide it so he can't keep asking to go outside again. It is extremely sturdy and adjustable for a child as he/she grows, and the tires should last a long time since they are rubber instead of plastic. I had read that this trike is very heavy, but it doesn't seem to be any heavier than any other metal trike we looked at. It is also very quiet, and the handle bars are sturdy yet easy to steer. Finally, the little bell becomes the cherry on top of this great purchase. I looked at tons of trikes both on stores and on this site, and this one takes the cake. It is so incredibly sturdy and built for years of riding. It just dwarfs other trikes by comparison.
Twin Trikes October 5, 2008 Brenda J. Cockburn (Paxton,IL) These trikes were very easy to assemble. They truly are nice quality. We purchased these for our twin grandaughters 2nd birhtday. They were a big hit with the kids and adults. We are still teaching them to pedal and steer, but they will have along time to practice. The seat is adjustable to grow with them. We liked that they were low to the ground, somewhat like a cross between a tricycle and big wheel, so as they learn they are not likely to tip over. All in all, great product, great price, great quality.
Nicely made, sturdy, flashy, retro and fun! September 30, 2008 J.D. (PA) This trike is well-made, and has a low center of gravity to minimize tipping over. My son received it for an early 3rd birthday present and just loves it. He askes me to ride on the back, so I space my feet on the edges of the wooden plate and let him peddal me around. It supports my weight when I stand that way and hold on to the handlebars with him. The thing I like best about it are the pneumatic rubber tires.
ok tricycle, not the best September 25, 2008 Matt This Schwinn tricycle doesn't have the quality I would expect but I'm sure that has everything to do with them selling their brand name off. The plastic seat broke a month after purchase but their customer support was very good and I had a replacement seat for free with a few days. The front fork bends too easy when pedaling hard and the front wheel uses cheap plastic bushings. It's also a deceptively heavy tricycle.
