About Burley Design Burley Design has been the leader in child bicycle trailer design for nearly 30 years and has earned a strong reputation for high quality, superior design, safety, and trailer strength. Burley's testing and safety standards are among the most rigorous in the industry, and their designs provide a high level of child comfort in an aerodynamic and lightweight trailer. Burley's trailers are all made from lightweight aluminum tubing and covered with a stain-resistant, mildew-resistant, and water-repelling polyester, high-quality fabric. The geometry of each trailer is specifically tuned to reduce the weight on the connecting hitch, while at the same time providing an even balance point over the trailer wheels. This minimizes the load on the bicycle to maximize handling and ensure an extremely stable and secure ride. The stylish designs are also functional with large windows, a comfortable suspended hammock-style seat that minimizes the bumps in the road, and a generous storage compartment to enable you to do it all and enjoy time with family, exercise, and run errands all at the same time. Burley trailers store easily with a quick fold and easy-to-remove wheels. You can store it in a garage, hang it indoors, or put it easily into the trunk of a car. With easy-to-use jogger or stroller options, Burley trailers can convert for a run, a stroll in the park, or a cycling adventure.

Super Utilitarian!!! September 22, 2008 Franklin Campbell (Chicago) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this trailer for a little over a year now and love it. It went 4 months not being used after its tow vehicle was stolen and I never bought it a new hitch. I eventually bought a hitch and I now tow with a Schwinn Varsity, built in December of 1968. To celebrater its being used again, I went and liberated a huge pile of Firewood that was sitting along the side of a road. Not sure if it was meant to be given away, but I took it anyway. It took 6 trips about 1 mile each roundtrip. Unloaded downhill and loaded uphill. I really like this trailer, its nice and stable. The one thing I dislike is the coupler's flexing when the trailer is loaded. It makes it very jerky when you accelerate. Otherwise great all around trailer
Versatile and useful cargo trailer June 5, 2008 Brian Daw (Illinois, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have owned one of these for two years. I own a small business and generally commute to work on my bike. I found I was often needing to drive my vehicle to work because I had to transport items too large to fit easily in my panniers. After investigating bike trailer options, I decided on the Burley Flatbed for the following reasons: 1) Burley has a very convenient hitch, allowing it to attach to any non suspension bike without tools or leaving anything permanently attached to the bike when the trailer is not in use. An alternate hitch is available which attaches to the rear axle for bikes with full suspension, but I have not had occasion to need one. 2) The open front and rear on this trailer allows for putting odd size items on it which would not fit on most other trailers. For instance, I had to move a chair the other day. I just bungee corded it down and went with no problem. I also purchased a storage tub, which is great for holding lots of small items, like groceries. 3) The trailer is quite well built and tracks well. Empty, it is easy to forget it is there. As with any trailer, it is important to keep the load distributed correctly with adequate tongue weight for it to pull well loaded. I have pulled this trailer loaded with at least 75 pounds several times and have never had issues with handling. I find it much more stable than loading 40 pounds of groceries in panniers and trunk on the bike. Overall, I would say this is a very well thought out product, well built, and has exceeded my expectations.
Difficult to assemble May 2, 2008 N. E. Duggan (Morristown, NJ) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I must say the shipping was lightning fast. Ordered and received within 48 hours. It's going to take me a lot longer than that to attach the wheels thanks to a woefully vague set of instructions.
Burley Flatbed Trailer February 3, 2008 Keithmj (Saint Petersburg, Fl) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these trailers January 2008 and this is really a nice trailer for the price. It is very light weight and is a breeze to hookup and unhook. You will not be sorry if you buy one of these. Do a google search for the best deal on one. When you pull this baby you won't know it is there until you load something onto it. It is offset to the left so you can ride close to the curb without the trailer wheels going off the pavement. I use a plastic tub to put my stuff in and then run the straps across to hold it down..Buy it..You'll enjoy it..Cheers..Keithmj
