great light November 9, 2008 Dorothy Modafferi (Hope,ID USA) Great light! Light weight: I snap it on the back of a Topeak aero wedge bag. Now I feel much safer when I ride roads with cars on the road.
USEFULL LIGHT FOR PROBLEM BIKES !!! September 19, 2008 Felix The CAT (ohio) Topeak red light with ultra-slim housing. Super thin and compact profile fits in where standard bike taillights don't! Light output is WEAK at best, distance visibility is non existent, HOWEVER this is better than NO LIGHT at all!! I am constantly bewildered why bicycle manufacturers can't agree on using a standard sized battery. Topeak red light uses the 2032 flat battery, which helps maintaining it's slim profile however these sized batteries are not as available as AA or AAA series, and is more costlier. Nice rubber-coated, water resistant on/off switch. Housing seems to be reasonably durable & moisture resistant. Lens is durable however optics are not as sharply designed as they could be. I gave this taillight 3 stars, because it does apply itself well to those problem bicycles like chopper & customs, in which this may be the only solution. The included "rubber band" mounting system helps to attach this lamp to chainstay, seatstay and other problem frame areas.
Topeak lets me down a bit August 23, 2008 M. Wohlrab (Lynden, Washington) Let me start by saying that in my relatively short time biking, I have found Topeak to produce very nice items. For the record, I also own a Topeak rack and bags that are both outstanding products. HOWEVER... my newly acquired Topeak Redlite is a huge disappointment. Let me explain why... On the back of my Topeak rack, there is a small metal bracket that is supposed to be for attaching Topeak brand lights. I imagine if you look up Topeak racks, you could see this small bracket. Unfortunately, once you purchase a Topeak light, you find that it doens't fit the bracket at all. After a lot of frustration, I ended up attaching my light to the back of the bag itself, held on by what I consider a fairly flimsy clip. Definately not what I had envisioned, or hoped for. I don't forsee it falling off, but it would be very easy to steal if someone wanted to take it. Secondly, upon receiving my light I was very surprised at just how tiny it is. I guess I'll have to pay more attention to the technical information on items I plan to purchase in the future, but I had expected this light to be a couple inches across, about the width of the bracket on my Topeak rack. No such luck. A very tiny light that almost looks out of place in size comparison to my other Topeak items. In regards to function, the light seems to operate fine. It's very bright, easy to use, and it has two modes (flashing and solid) to choose from. In my opinion, the function of the light is it's only saving grace, and all that kept me from rating it even lower. Overall, I give my Topeak Redlite experience 2 out of 5 stars. I will be looking for something more substantial to replace it with. -Woobey
I really like this light July 18, 2008 Karl (Yokohama) I commute at night on heavily trafficed streets. My theory is that you can never have enough blinkies and if you don't look like a Christmas tree, you're doing something wrong. I really like this light because it is so small but so bright. I have two of these as tail lights. One is on my seat post, the other is velcro'd to the rear of my helmet (I'm such a Fred). I ride in all weather and after a year of use, neither has ever failed me. The added bonus is that this light comes with two different attachment options... one is a plastic piece that you can attach to the seatpost by a rubberized band, and the other is a clip that allows you to attach it to a pocket of a pack (however, I don't like the clip very much because it doesn't allow you to keep the light pointed where you need it). The light is very easy to attach and remove... a nice feature if you park your bike where people might be tempted to take things off of it. As much as I like this light, however, I wouldn't use it as my sole source of rear lighting if you ride much at night. It is best when used in combination with one or two other blinkies to give yourself the best chance to be seen.
VERY Nice! December 14, 2007 C. Caffee 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is nice light. It is extremely visible from far away. It also clips onto the topeak bag I own. It is very convienent to just clip on and remove it from the bag. Thank you for a wonderful product.
