This is a much more afforadable "knockoff", it doesn't seem as durable as the "original, but, my grandson loves it in, oh, so many ways. Scary ways, although he uses it as a toy to spin around on, he also uses it as a "stool". He has learned not to step on the spinning base though :). So I guess the educational value is actually 5 star. Great product for the money!

My three and a half year old nieces both hopped right on and began spinning around. I hear they are still using them consistently after a couple of weeks, and I'm thrilled they seem to love their Spin Arounds so much. Assembly was simple, seem durable, and the price was right! I will definitely buy these as gifts for other toddlers.

I have an autistic son and I ordered this toy for him upon the recommendation of his teachers. He loves it. My other two children also enjoy it. My kids are 9, 6, and 3 and can each use it. It isn't as heavy and sturdy as the one I had in the '70s, but it is the best one I've seen since. Best on a hard floor, not carpet. Easy to assemble. Wish they made them for adults!

My review is simply meant to echo the others, as I agree the spin around is good old fashioned fun! My 2 year old loves it and quite frankly in these cold Illinois winters, so do I. It's a great toy for some indoor active play. It's quiet, w/o all the bells and whistles seen on other models and it does indeed spin well on carpet. Hear, hear to the reviewer who wants them to make an adult one! I always wanted one as a kid and now I'm too durn big...dang! Great toy!
