great for travel October 9, 2008 Charlene Brazell (New Orleans, LA) This was perfect for playing on a long flight. My only complaint would be the letters can be a little hard to get out of the board. But size it great for fitting on the airplane pull down tray. The letter trays are a must for bumpy flights.
Scrabble Nut September 16, 2008 Jilian Giles (Chatsworth, CA USA) I purchased this set because my fiance and I love to play Scrabble. This lets us play it any place. It's very compact and convenient. The tiles fit snuggly into the spaces and it's wonderful that you can save the game to continue later if you choose. We love it better than the big board game where the tiles slide around. It's a great purchase!
Great, except small pieces August 5, 2008 netshopper (Woodside, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We love this set. My only complaint is that the pieces are very small. I have small fingers and I find it hard to handle at times. I think this would be hard to use at the beach or on the plane. We also had to rub each piece on all four sides at first b/c they wouldn't stay on the board next to other pieces. It only took a few minutes though, and all the pieces fit now! So if you have that problem, just take a regular emory board and file each piece on four sides a few times. This will wear down the edges just enough to make sure they don't pop out.
Compact and easy to use July 30, 2008 G. Morten (San Francisco) If you play board games only at home, then there is really no need for alternative forms. But if you like to play away from home -- say at a coffee shop, on a train, or someplace outdoors, a traditional board game format usually does not work well. The problem with most board games is the board itself -- large, containing creases (so it tends to fold up on itself if not set on a perfectly flat surface). And the pieces do not stay in place, a particular problem when playing on a moving vehicle, or outdoors in drafty areas. This board game solves most of those problems. First, it is very compact, so it fits easily on those smallish tables provided in most Internet coffee shops. Since it is small, it is easy to carry -- just stow it in your backpack or suitcase. Second, the game pieces lock into place, so a slight breeze or rough stretch in the tracks will not send the tiles flying or sliding around. The only negative is that some tiles tend to pop out of the retaining squares on the board. A little cleaning up of the edges of the tiles with a pocket knife seems to solve this problem.
Travel Scrabble July 15, 2008 Thomas B. Lee Ordered this as a going away gift for my son's girlfriend. She loves to play Scrabble and loved this travel Scrabble because of its size and the way the tiles snap in and don't fall out. Would order it again.
