| Editorial Reviews:
Editorial Review SET is a card game of quick recognition and deduction. Each card contains one of three symbols (squiggles, diamonds, ovals) in varying numbers (up to three), colors (purple, green, red), and degrees of shading. A dealer arranges 12 cards, face up, and the players--without taking turns--hastily scrutinize the images for logical "sets" of three cards linked by combinations of sameness or difference. It's not as complicated as it sounds: examples include a trio of paired ovals with increasing levels of shading between cards, or disparate symbols in different colors which increase in number on each card (card one has a green squiggle, card two a pair of purple ovals, card three a trio of diamonds). The trick is to keep calm while trying to make the rapid connections. The Darwinian nature of the game (remember: everyone plays simultaneously) is certain to cause some feistiness among more competitive players. --Tom Keogh
Product Description This award winning card game is for one or more players. It is recommended for ages six and above. The object of the game is to identify "sets" of three cards. Each card is unique in its four features; color - red, green or purple, symbol - diamond, squiggle or oval, shading - solid, striped or open, and number - 1, 2 or 3. A "set" consists of three cards on which each feature is either the same on all of the cards, or different on all of the cards. This game contains complete instructions for play, 81 cards, and a durable plastic carrying case.

Fun brain exercise for all ages - My family loves this game! March 18, 2010 Carol Nelson (Milaca, MN United States) Our family loves this game more than any other game we've played together. Our 4-year-old plays right along with the rest of us. It is an engaging exercise in pattern matching that provides equal footing for players of all ages (ages 4-5 and up).
Our seven-year old can win this game against her elders without any "special rules" or other such condescensions. Usually games that young children can realistically play and win are based on chance and don't involve much thinking.
This game is based on the ability to mentally organize four categories and is quick and easy to learn, without waiting turns and without many rules to learn. These features also make it very easy to play with people who have never played it before. There is not much they need to know before starting the game. (Hint: study the examples on the box to jump-start your understanding.)
An excellent game, just excellent!
Great game February 10, 2010 Angela A. Setaro 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
At first this game seemed a little confusing to play, but once we figured out what a "set" was, it was AWESOME!!! It does get frustrating at times, since the sets are not always easy to see.....then again, thats the fun of it. My 15 year old daughter seems to have a good eye for the sets and beats us everytime!!! Def a lot of fun for the whole family....all ages.
Not as fun as we thought February 3, 2010 Questie M. Reams (West Virginia) Our adult friends LOVE this game and encouraged me to buy it for my kids for Christmas. It has been played 2 times and that has been by me and a couple of my children. Our kids do not choose to play this game. It is great and gets you to thinking.
I bought for my daughter but use it more than she does! February 2, 2010 Rebecca Slone (Virginia) I bought this for my 7 year old and she took one look at it and said- we have that at school. I would describe this when played alone as more of a puzzle rather than a game. I ended up using it myself and am addicted! It is a great way to take a break from the daily grind. The NYtimes.com has a free online version which they change daily. It is a great way to mix fun and using your brain at the same time.
Fun for all ages February 1, 2010 J. Wyek (Novato, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is great fun for the whole family. The more you play, the better (quicker) you can pick out sets, but what we really like is that there is no particular advantage based on age or size.
We play as a family and my 9 year old daughter has just as much opportunity and likelihood to win as I do.
The more often you play, you will develop an advantage over those who play less frequently.
This game is fun and challenging for everyone.

Geomate Jr. - Geocaching for Kids
I am dying to get my hands on a Geomate Jr. Geocaching GPS (compare prices.) Geocaching is a great family activity that gets everyone outdoors. The Geomate Jr. has 250,000 geocache locations preloaded. Simply scroll through to find the one closest to you and set off on foot, following the arrows on the screen. When you get there you'll find a box with little notes or treasures. Just be sure t...
Zibits Mini RC Robot Toys
Zibits are mini RC (remote-controlled) robot toys that come in 12 collectible styles. Only about three inches tall, Zibits go forward and spin around when you push the button on the remote control. Remote-control toy collectors and robot freaks would enjoy these. They are quirky and make cute sound effects, but unfortunately there's no reverse, they don't go very fast and they stumbled over ...
Splashy the Whale Game
I admit it. Splashy the Whale (compare prices) by Pressman Toys sat on my "Toys to Review" shelf for some time before I let my kids get their hands on it. I think I was afraid that a water-spewing whale game would make a mess, and for that reason my children would love it to pieces. My fears were completely reasonable. My 4-year-old son said, "It's so wet that I love it!"
Splashy the Whale wor...
