1 out of 5 stars Junk   January 6, 2009
Jenefun
The previous reviews are all true. This toy does not work properly. The tray constantly gets stuck and even when it does start to spin it would never spin fast enough to create the type of art this product should produce.

This was a waste of money and I wish I would've listened to everyones reviews when I was buying the item. I am extremely dissapointed.

1 out of 5 stars Piece of junk   January 2, 2009

This toy was the biggest disappointment ever! The tray barely spun and kept bumping on the plastic guard which prevented it from spinning altogether. It's a terrible design, nothing like the one when I had when I was a child. We used this toy once, it will go in the trash after today. Dont waste your time or money on this toy, it's a complete disaster.

1 out of 5 stars Missing spin tray   December 28, 2008
M. Schaeffer (Miami, FL United States)
I purchased 2 of these on October 10, 2008.
I did never open them since they were supposed to be Christmas presents for my 2 little girls. Once the girls opened the boxes on Christmas Eve I noticed that on both units were the spin tray missing, it was just not in any of the 2 units boxes. In other words I got 2 defective items shipped, and even worst since I did not open them upon arrival to notice the missing parts I can't even ask for a exchange or refund since after purchase you get only 30 days to complain if something you bought arrived wrong or with missing or damaged parts. I cannot rate any fun for this item since my 2 little girls could not use the units due to the missing spin tray. Besides all the negatives the product itself looks pretty good and might have been fun if there were no missing pieces.

My 5 yr old loves this toy. She is always very proud of her creations. It fosters creativity and imagination.

1 out of 5 stars Even when it does work, it does not work   September 15, 2008
Melissa J. Newman (Elizabeth, NJ United States)
The spin art concept is fun, but the hoovering concept does not work. Even when you can get it to work, after a couple of pictures, the excess paint collects on the sides of the tray and affects the balance. This causes it to no longer spin correctly. If the paper is not an EXACT square, it does not spin correctly. It comes with 15 pieces of paper. After 15 pictures, the batteries are dead. Stick with the old fashioned ones where the paper is actually secured down. As my husband would say, the company designed for packaging and never actually tested the concept with a group of kids.
