5 out of 5 stars Great "classic" game--now even better!   November 1, 2008

This game is based on the hugely popular Password TV game from the 60's. Remember how fun it was? Fun to watch, and fun to play. I was SO excited when I found my "Password" game from my childhood whilst I was clearing out my attic. We all had so much fun playing Password, and it was SO cool when I found the score sheets with my friends, my brother and me! It bought back so many great memories. The box was tattered and I wrapped it a plastic zip-lock bag, to PASS it on to my kids and g-kids.

Well, now they have done it even better! The original leather-et word-list holders and word lists are there, but now the game comes in a neat metal tin. What a good idea! The appeal of "Password" will last forever, and now it is in a lasting case. I am definitely going to purchase this for my family, and some for gifts, too. I can't believe that Amazon is offering this wonderful-game-in-a tin for TEN bucks! I saw it first on a website that I shop on, and then I checked Amazon and it was 25% cheaper.

The rules are simple: The players pair off, and one member of the pair tries to guess the target word from one-word clues given by the partner. The play continues around to the next pair, until someone guesses it. Then you count up and record the number of hints that took, for each word, and, at the end, the pair with the smallest number wins. The game increases in speed and excitement as vocabulary and communication skills are put to the test....

I hope this helps...I'm going to order mine right now, before everyone discovers this deal, and they run out of them!

5 out of 5 stars Great for home or travel.   October 6, 2008
Go Blue (Atlanta GA)
My wife and I got into the Password TV show that was on earlier this summer. I looked for a board game version and saw this travel edition for under $10. It's a great purchase at this price, and you can easily play it at home.

It's similar to Taboo, except that you can only give one word clues. This version seems much harder than the TV version, which makes it a fun challenge. For example, one word we saw recently was "harried". A lot of times, it comes down to how many synonyms you know. Someone with a limited vocabulary will not enjoy this game.

Overall it's a solid purchase for board game fans that want a little intellectual challenge.

5 out of 5 stars One of the World's Best Games!   August 30, 2008
