Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Be cool. Be creative. Be yourself. That's the premise behind this spiffy contraption that lets its users make buttons to adorn, trade, or collect. The creation of the Spotz themselves is pretty low tech: cut out a small square of paper with the image you want; slide it into the machine; push down on the purple lever to punch the image out as a circle; slide the circular image into the button area and twist. Voila! In three simple steps you have created a personalized Spotz, roughly the size of a fifty cent piece. And every original orb can be used to accessorize your backpack, book covers, photo frames, and more.

But then things really get interesting -- and interactive. Zizzle has created an entire online world for Spotz makers to visit, where they can share creations, print new images, get downloads, and play games. (Of course, it's also a place where they can tell you about all of the other Spotz stuff that you can purchase separately.) While this kit comes with everything needed to make 30 new Spotz, that isn't nearly enough for some creative types. Their website features a large selection of images that can be printed at home in a wide variety of genres, such as sports, astronomy, flowers, bugs, holidays, sassy sayings, and many more.

Spotz Maker
Create personalized buttons to wear, trade, or collect.

The lavender, pink, and purple machine provides storage options for the Spotz, too. A display area on the lever and three on the side let kids show off their favorites, while the storage drawer keeps remaining Spotz and unused pieces neatly out of the way. The middle of the three side areas even has a light so that you can illuminate your Spotz for better viewing and display purposes. Two AAA batteries are required, but not included.

Product Description
The Spotz Maker lets you show off your own style and creativity! It's so easy. In just three steps you can set your individual style: Choose it! Punch it! Twist it! Each Spotz is personalized by you because you choose the image inside and the colors showing off what's unique about you. Of course, don't forget you can light up your favorite Spotz and decorate the Spotz Maker with cool Jotz. It's all about you, your Spotz and your style! Includes everything you need to create 30 spots and 10 jazzy jotz, cool translucent paper and images, plus storage for it all. Measures 6.25" x 5.75" x 7.5". Requires 3 "AAA" batteries, not included.

2 out of 5 stars How does one wear these?   May 2, 2008

This isn't a review but I hope to write one if I can find the following out.
How can one attach to other things? The accessory pack does not mention accessories to do this. I'd love to make some charms using this. Does Spotz have that accessory or would I have to glue on my own loop?

5 out of 5 stars PERFECT gift for any Child...boy or Girl!   April 1, 2008

Purchased as a gift for my 8 year old daughter's birthday. She loves this! Easy to use and keeps her busy. It needs batteries only to operate a light, which, isn't a big deal, she isn't interested in the light, so it is a battery free and quiet machine. Hand crank..no scissor needed either! I didn't know that we would need to purchase additional clips, accessories in order for the spotz to hang from things. BUT they are super easy to find and are fairly cheap so I have now purchased the key chain and small purse.. I love that we can cut images from a magazine. She loves High School Musical, now she has cut out their faces from local ads and has all their faces in a spotz! She is having so much fun. Even my 3 year old made spotz all herself. It is rated 8 and up but actually with a watchful parent, any age can use it. They are constantly searching through magazines and ads to find potential spotz faces. Even in the car, a pile of old magazines will keep them busy as they know when they get home they can cut them out and create more spotz. GREAT price, GREAT product..I would give it 10 stars if that was possible! We now give Spotz Machines as gifts for birthday parties. Even my 15 year old niece enjoys this machine. All of my daughters friends love these spotz too! They use them like trading cards at school. She comes home with different spotz from her friends every week. The art teacher has now even purchased a few of these for her classroom. She has been using the spotz as an award system.. The uses are really endless with this fun toy! The machine is fun but you can also pop these spotz together by hand. I have grabbed a handful of these spotz to keep the girls busy on quick trips to the store, etc. They were even using them to play tic-tac-toe the other day. This is just absolutely the BEST toy! That is all, it is the best!

1 out of 5 stars No One Has the Accessory Packs Right After X-Mas!!!   February 13, 2008

My daughter thinks this is a nice toy, but as another reviewer mentioned, they get put together quite quickly and when you're out, you're out! I found some accessory packs on clearance at Target and Wal-Mart. Now I noticed no one carries them at all. What's up Zizzle? This product seemed to be a new item for Christmas '07, now you can't find accessory packs to prolong the fun! I'm getting tired of useless toys....1 star for poor planning on the part of the manufacturer!!!

3 out of 5 stars Simple and Fun   January 12, 2008

My daughter really enjoys this toy. The only draw back is that you can make all the Spotz very quickly - so, when you're done, you're done. I did purchase some of the extra accessory packs and the other Spotz items (i.e., purse, frame...). So, she can have a little more fun with it.

5 out of 5 stars 12 year old delighted   January 7, 2008

I purchased this for a 12 year old girl.....not related. She started playing with it immediately after opening. She was making "buttons" on and off all day - and handing them out. The only "bad" part is that there are not enough designs or holders in the original purchase which I was not aware of. So now Ihave to order more of these after the fact. Otherwise this is a fun project toy for boy or girl. Even her 21 year old brother was playing with it. She is very artistic and was drawing her own designs also.
