Product Description This award winning card game is for one or more players. It is recommended for ages six and above. The object of the game is to identify "sets" of three cards. Each card is unique in its four features; color - red, green or purple, symbol - diamond, squiggle or oval, shading - solid, striped or open, and number - 1, 2 or 3. A "set" consists of three cards on which each feature is either the same on all of the cards, or different on all of the cards. This game contains complete instructions for play, 81 cards, and a durable plastic carrying case.
Editorial Review SET is a card game of quick recognition and deduction. Each card contains one of three symbols (squiggles, diamonds, ovals) in varying numbers (up to three), colors (purple, green, red), and degrees of shading. A dealer arranges 12 cards, face up, and the players--without taking turns--hastily scrutinize the images for logical "sets" of three cards linked by combinations of sameness or difference. It's not as complicated as it sounds: examples include a trio of paired ovals with increasing levels of shading between cards, or disparate symbols in different colors which increase in number on each card (card one has a green squiggle, card two a pair of purple ovals, card three a trio of diamonds). The trick is to keep calm while trying to make the rapid connections. The Darwinian nature of the game (remember: everyone plays simultaneously) is certain to cause some feistiness among more competitive players. --Tom Keogh

great for everyone September 2, 2008 Alli Miller This is a great game because my family is able to play pretty fairly together. Because there is not one correct answer, people who have different strengths are still able to play together. It's a great thinking game and is very fun.
Great solitaire game for traveling September 1, 2008 John Doe (TX, USA) You do need a small flat space to play it, but it is a great way to pass the time.
Get set for SET August 31, 2008 Mary K. Hemingway (Western New York) I have played SET for several years. The game is fun to play with others, or as a solitaire game which adds to its value. I recently purchased this again as I had left my SET game with my daughter (who also had to replace it when she left it at her in-laws' home). I did get my children (married with children) addicted to it also. We did find that it is best when everyone is alert.
Great mind game August 17, 2008 Sarah S. (Yukon, OK) This is an excellent thinking game. Finding patterns that are not obvious at first glance is great for encouraging problem solving skills. Besides being educational, this game is fun! I've been playing it since I was a kid and finally just bought my own set (no pun intended).
Educational-not fun!!!!! August 10, 2008 Willow (New York) This "game" is truly only a deck of standard sized cards in a case. It was purchased by a very game playing family of four, and mom is the only one who somewhat likes it. It's not because it's too hard (once you get the hang of it), it's just not very entertaining. I've tried it with both kids and adults, and both groups would rather choose any other game in the house. We love most games and puzzles, and this one just didn't cut it. I'm really surprised with the number of positive reviews.
