this toy would of been a great to if we didnt get one with a defect. the tunnel keeped caving in. on the plus side the kids took the tunnel off and still enjoyed it.
fun in the sun!!!!!!!!!!! August 4, 2008 L. Lynch (Brick, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this product for my daughter and friends to enjoy this summer! It is not as much fun as the bounce and slide by whamo, but was a great addition to her collection of slides! It was alot of work setting up and taking down but the kids sure played with it for a long time and had alot of fun! The small sliding raft included was a blast on all the slides! It is well made and was good value for the money.
Black-Out Speed Slide Falls Apart July 24, 2008 Kerryann Riordan (Connecticut) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My kids, ages 8 and 5, were very excited to receive this product on such a hot day. Unfortunately, it only lasted about 15 minutes!!! Terrible construction, the whole side of the tunnel ripped after they each slid only a couple of times. Needless to say, I had to return this product. What a disappointment!
Good but not great July 17, 2008 Henry R. Hatfield (Sunnyvale, CA) We searched all over and settled on this one because it was the coolest looking slip and slide. We bought 2 to connect them. Although the kids loved them and had lots of fun, we had to do some tweeking to get the tunnel to stay upright. As mentioned by another customer, the tunnel was deformed. The top middle inlfatable tube that runs from the front to the back of the tunnel does not stay straight as it looks in the picture. It appears to me the the blue plastic flaps/convering on the sides were made too small so it pulls the middle tube part down, making it dip in the center, creating a slight 2nd "V" on top of the "V" base. Only the second section ("V") with the fringes had an issue. Even with the tunnel issue, the kids can still go through it. In an effort to keep the tunnel more upright, we created a "tunnel support" in the center. We bought 1" plastic white pipes from Home depot that were about 8ft long. The pipes were flexible so we could create an arch with them. I think we cut them down to 6ft long. We also bought 5/8" dowels and cut them down to 1ft long segments. We made one end of each dowel pointed so we could stake it into the ground. We put a stake in the ground (grass), on either side of the slide, where the middle part of the tunnel would be. We pushed the stake down 6" so that the remaining 6" was above ground. We then inserted one end of the pipe into the dowel and the other end into the other dowel so it created an arch. We then set the middle section of the tunnel over the tunnel support. This really help the tunnel stay up. This may sound like a lot of work, but it really did not take very long to do. As for setting up the "double slip and slide. We set them up the normal way, with one right after the other and it was fine. We also set them up with the pool one either end and it was fine as well. Although we wished the quality of this product was better, we still think that it is better than what out there.
Don't waste your money! July 3, 2008 LisaD 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product is not worth the money at all. The tunnel does not stay put, and requires constant parent attendance so that my kids can go through it. My kids were even frustrated after about 15 minutes. Hours of fun turned into hours of headaches trying varioius attempts at stabilizing the tunnel, and getting better water flow through the entire product. My kids, after about 2 weeks of off and on battles with this product, said, "let's throw it away". They are 4 and 6, and realized already that this product DOES NOT look like the cover of the box. They learned at a young age about truth in advertising.
