Product Description
This play kit unfolds to reveal a deserted island, 3 colors of sand and molds to make huts, animals and boats. Close up your island and take your adventure with you in the hard plastic carrying case. Moon Sand is the sand you can mold. It's the fun of the beach without the mess. It won't stick or stain. Sand is made in Sweden.

2 out of 5 stars Moon Sand   September 12, 2008

I purchased moon sand for my son after watching all the ads on TV about how great it is. The first time my son played with the sand I knew it was not going to be around long. As he tried to make the molded figures they either fell apart or stuck in the mold. You do need to pack the mold tightly then hit the mold on the table to get it out, something my kids had trouble with and I was always having to help with. So he became frustrated and I found myself making the objects. I to decided it was not very much fun. Once you do set up all the items you can add water to it and pretend to play but I think I will stick to Play-doh. Plus Play-doh is cheaper.

2 out of 5 stars Don't buy if you like a clean house   June 30, 2008
dcolby (MA)
My daughter had been hounding me for this for months so I purchased it for her for XMas. Let's just say that after one use I put it away until the spring so she could play with this outside. This is very messy, gets all over her hands, clothes, and any surface around her. Plus, when she plays with it I feel like it gets into my throat like I'm inhaling it and that really weirds me out. Don't buy.

5 out of 5 stars ENTERTAINS FOR A LONG TIME! Dont care about mess   March 13, 2008

Hi,

I know a lot of folks are complaining about the mess of this product. However my 3 year old plays with this toy for like an hour and a half. Then later she will play again. And if it is in the kitchen I dont care about the mess. Whatever will entertain my monkey for long periods of time is a great product.

4 out of 5 stars Messy but fun   January 14, 2008

Although I had read very negative reviews of this product, I purchased it anyway because my granddaughter really wanted it. And, I am glad I did. Yes, it is messy. No, it is not educational. But, it is fun. She has spent many hours playing with this sand toy and sharing the fun with her friends. Not every toy has to be educational and "unmessy". Play for the sake of play and fun without having to worry about the mess is a welcome change for a child.

5 out of 5 stars Taking the Beach Home and in Color   January 12, 2008

We got this for my daughter for Christmas. She has always loved the sand at the beach and can play for hours with her brother building things in the sand on our kitchen table.
