Amazon.com Product Description Children can let their imaginations run wild as they build towers and towns with this 60-piece standard unit block set. The 60 large, classroom-sized blocks have a classic look and are easy for little fingers to grasp. Ideal for ages three to five, this block set stimulates children for hours as they engage in imaginative play. Naturally Finished for a Classic Look Wooden blocks have been around for centuries and make an excellent tool to teach basic math concepts, organizational skills, sequential skills, and spatial relations. It is no surprise that blocks are found in almost every pre-school and kindergarten classroom. Youngsters become the architect of their own world as they fit pieces together to form their vision. This open-ended play set stimulates creativity and hones basic motor skills. Each set features a large variety shapes and sizes including arches, columns, squares, rectangles, triangles, cylinders, and circles, as well as basic, half, and double unit blocks. This block set is crafted to the standard unit block size (1-1/2-by-2-by-5-inches) and constructed from Rubberwood, a resilient hardwood. The blocks are big, chunky, and easy for kids to grasp and build with. Smoothly sanded surfaces tantalize fingertips and create a handsome natural aesthetic. Best of all, when the child finishes constructing their masterpiece, all the pieces store neatly into a wooden storage box. There is no limit to the types of fortresses the child can build with these blocks. This deluxe set even contains pillars, buttresses, gothic circles, and half-circles for advanced architecture. As an added bonus, the storage box doubles as a building platform. Children and parents have fun as they complete projects together. Parents can purchase another set and add to the amusement. An essential for any child's toy box, these blocks are sturdy, durable, and beautiful enough to put on display. The box measures 15-by-12-1/2-by-15-1/4 inches. Very fun blocks - my son loves them!! December 2, 2008 Gina K. Davis (Orlando, FL) My son has been asking for these blocks for a long time. He finally got them, and hasn't stopped playing with them. They're great by themselves or to mix and match with other blocks.
expensive, but worth it November 25, 2008 farrier emily (Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these at full price fearing they might sell out. I wish I had waited, I would have gotten two sets, the price keeps dropping as Christmas approaches. They are Great blocks, the size is wonderful, most blocks are so small I have to worry about the baby getting them and they are much more frustrating to build with for a younger child. These are big and heavy and stack very well. I'm hoping to find cheaper shipping then I'll be purchasing a second set.
Great blocks November 4, 2008 L. Evans I bought these wooden blocks for my 2 year old sister for Christmas. I have not opened the package yet but they look great. The order arrived very quickly!
Great fun, great value! October 6, 2008 MamaMetro (AZ) My two-and-a-half year old grandson can play with these blocks for hours and even enjoy putting them away. The key appears to be the proportions. I know he's registering spatial values as he figures out how to fit them back into the box. I know I'll be purchasing the other sets as well since it's such a fun activity to share with him. You can't go wrong.
Excellent toy September 21, 2008 M. McClellan Toy was received in timing as indicated and in excellent condition. My boys love it!
