Editorial Review
This enchanting activity game will keep younger kids happily distracted, whether it's played indoors or out. A cute, blue elephant blows 30 feathery, vinyl butterflies from its 4-foot trunk into the air. The trunk, made of flexible plastic, stands straight up when the small, quiet motor in the elephant's bottom is turned on. Kids use mesh nets (four included) to capture the most butterflies, same-color butterflies, or just catch 'em period. Requires four C batteries, not included. --Diane Beall

2 out of 5 stars I took it back   November 13, 2008
Jboogie (New Jersey)
I read the other reviews and I was surprised that most seem to like it. My biggest issue was that the game played very quickly. It took too much time to get it ready for the next round of play than it takes to actually play. The premise for this game is great. But they need many more butterflies and a maybe a way to set it up more quickly. It was really frustrating. I never take back toys that were used, but I took this back and my kids did not miss it.

5 out of 5 stars Crazy Fun!!!!   October 28, 2008
Nancy Herrera (PA)
My daughter got this as a birthday gift last year and she still plays with it and has a great time doing so!! We have never had any problems with the unit and the battery life is extremely long. I haven't changed the batteries since the first time we've played and believe me she has played with it many times!

4 out of 5 stars Great Fun for Everyone   October 14, 2008
Jessica Faust (Gillette, NJ)
This is a great fun for adults and kids. The battery life is short, but the time spent playing is fun. My 3-year-old and his friends love it and even the adults get into the game trying to catch butterflies. For a child learning colors you can pick a color to catch and it's great for counting skills too.

5 out of 5 stars Fun toy!   October 10, 2008
J. Ament (Liberty Twp, Ohio United States)
My four year old received this for his birthday and loves to run and try to catch the butterflies. My 19 mo. old likes to act like he's catching them, too! I would suggest this for some easy entertainment. :)

2 out of 5 stars Lousy and disappointing, until I got ahold of it.   August 25, 2008

The promise of this game is good. The reality of it is disappointing, as the hundreds of other reviews here will tell you. They're all correct. Rarely does a toy underperform this badly and get away with it for so long. If you already own this toy, or you REALLY want to get it and have it work, I wrote an article on how to hack your Elefun to work the way it ought to:

Now my son and I greatly enjoy playing Elefun. I hope it helps other Elefun owners regain their joy.
