hmmm. Son got bored so did I June 16, 2008 Jane The fact that the keys are in colored and the screen is not I think made my son bored. Kind of a hassle to set up and get my son interested. Too small of a screen, and it is black and white. Sorry I would not buy it again. It is at the bottom of the toy box.
Tons of activities February 7, 2008 SD Mom (San Diego, CA) I thought this toy might be too easy for my two year old, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are tons of different activities to choose from, so while he quickly mastered finding upper and lower case letters and numbers, there are still a lot more activites that he hasn't yet learned to do - so hopefully he will remain interested in this toy for quite a while. My only complaint is that the screen is so small and basic, but it is still pretty good, given the price.
Not for 2 yr old's January 8, 2008 AJ's mom (Santa Clarita,CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 2 yr old who loves to play with my laptop. But this does not entertain him. I guess I was wrong to buy this lap top for my little one. My son does play with the kiddieland laptop that I bought for him a week back.I picked it up at the 'after christmas' sale at my local grocery store for $7.I am guessing he will play with the Thomas and friends laptop probably a year from now.
Big fun for my 2 year old January 7, 2008 Jodi (SF Bay Area, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a Chirstmas present for my little boy and has become ones of his faves. He enjoys the music and the sounds from the Thomas the Train show and has already started to recognize some letters and numbers. I love that he has started to become acquainted with the mouse and basic computer operations. This toy has quite a few different activities and games-my son loves them! The only downfall is that in order to do the activities- you have to either push the Activities button and enter the number of the activity or push the numbers at the top. My son is not able to do this without assistance so if he plays by himself he gets a little frustrated and turns it off. It would be nice if the keys did more when not in activity mode. Overall I would recommend for 2-4 year olds especially if they love Thomas!
I didn't know my 4 year old could spell December 13, 2007 twainm (CA) My Thomas fan received this as a 4th birthday present. He plays with it all the time and the songs drive me mad. However, the other day he went to the fridge and wrote " Thomas" in magnetic letters, with no hesitation. He follows the prompts in this game well eg: finish spelling the word " nest" . Which letter is missing to spell Nest .. _est?" . His 20 month old brother loves Thomas as well and loves pushing all the buttons. I hear Thomas music in my head all the time now so I can't tell if this thing is on anymore, which I guess makes it less irritating. But who cares if its irritating if it teaches my 4 year old to spell?
