I bought this tea set for my daughters 2nd birthday, and couldn't be more happy with it. The colors are beautiful, and the set looks great with the rest of her wooded kitchen accessories.
*The sugar cubes and candles are very tiny and would need to be put away if buying for younger children.

My 3 yr old daughter had a 'tea party' theme for her birthday and this tea set was the envy of all! Beautifully painted, perfectly sized for dolls, and durable! My daughter just loves this set!
I kept the candles and sugar cubes (there are 4 teeny cubes and 5 tiny candles) on a high shelf during the party in case other the other children might have put them in
their mouths(!)or lost em somewhere in the house but I know my daughter will enjoy playing with those 'choking hazards' when we play 'tea time' together. I considered gluing the candles in their places, which would be easy as they already fit rather snugly, but I imagine that as she grows older, she will have more fun placing and removing the candles.
We have a darling ceramic set that's already suffered a broken saucer and a tin set that 'feels wrong' says my daughter. This 'feels right', as the wood gives the cups weight and as if they are indeed full of tea...The tea bags are teeny tiny, we actually prefer the Haba tea bags that come in a tin to use with this set. There are only two tea bags with this set and they hardly are big enough to weigh anything and the string is stiff so they kind of pop out of the cups, instead of settle on the bottom. However, you can put them in the tea pot and 'trap' the strings under the lid and that works great. We compared this to the Melissa and Doug wooden set and that one is too square-ish for
my taste and I think their wooden toys tend to have sharp edges and also
run on the large side- too large for a proper Dolly-size Tea Party, in my opinion. Everyone wanted to know where in the world we found such a cute tea set!
