1 out of 5 stars defective part and damaged wheel   December 22, 2008
D. Searles
Just recieved this Art Cart and when I was sorting the parts discovered minor damage to one of the wheels....no big deal. Then as we were putting it together we discovered that the wheel support had NO groove for the bottom shelf to slide into. Called Alextoys directly and they are out for inventory control until Jan. GREAT CART, But absolutely WORTHLESS if you can't put it together without MAJOR modifications!

Now I'm rushing out to find another gift! shheeesh!

5 out of 5 stars Fun gift   December 6, 2008

We bought this last Christmas when our girls were 2 and 10 months with the hopes that they would both be able to use it for years. So far, after a year, they both love it and can work together on it. There is plenty of room for storage and it's easy to move around. The chalk board is good for the price of the cart, but we do have trouble with some types of chalk. We bought large easel clips to use an easel pad of paper when the roll of paper was almost empty. The good thing about that is you can put paper on both sides that way. The white board cleans off easily with crayola markers. This was pretty easy to put together and rather sturdy. We really love it.

4 out of 5 stars Fun look   May 25, 2007
Leggs (Monticello, FL USA)
If this easel had not been 50% off I would have gone with a smaller one. It was relatively easy to assemble; my husband did it in under an hour with a manual and electric screwdriver. DD loved and still loves to color on it. I love the roll of paper; I attached a binder clip to the top of the paper to keep DD from unrolling too much. The cups are great for holding crayons, markers, pens, etc. We have not used the chalk side, b/c as I rethought it, I don't want chalk dust in my house and no paint yet. It's large enough to give DD a big coloring space and when she first got it she would climb in the middle and sit on the top shelf. The shelves are sturdy as I have the bottom one loaded with paper, coloring books and more crayons. For one child a smaller easel would be more appropriate or even jut a table, but we have #2 on the way and it will be nice to have 2 sides for them. It's a cute easel and we'll roll it outside in the sunshine some days.

4 out of 5 stars Very nice easel   January 24, 2007

We just got this in the mail, and it went together very well. Took a while to get one as we ordered it right before Christmas. I used their screws and my own screwdriver - the screwdriver that comes with it is small, so I can see where others may have had a problem. Didn't have any screws break, had one strip out, but that was my fault as I tightened it too far. Remember folks, you are dealing with soft wood here, so don't go crazy with your screwdriver. And DO NOT use a screw gun (power drill), you will defintely have problems.

My 3 year old is using it right now and loves it. So far has drawn a cat and a dog, and is going to have some trouble separating from it to go to bed. For the money, this is a winner.
