This stick horse's head is made of soft, quality plush velour in brown and white with a black mane. His reins are red canvas. Uses two AA batteries (included). Ages 3 and up.

I bought these two prance and play horses for my twin granddaughters and they love them. The only problem is that one has sound effects and the other does not. Evidently, it is broken or disabled as a new battery did not activate the sound. Since the girls are only two, they don't realize the defect. Regards, P. J. Teigen
 Fun to pretend and prance November 2, 2007

This is a wonderful pretend pony. The lifelike sounds add to the child's fun.. It's well made and sturdy enough for many hours of cow-people pretending. Another winner from Melissa and Doug.
