Product Description Young engineers are sure to have hours of fun with this authentic-looking dump truck. Giant wheels make even the most rugged sites accessible. Indoors or out, the Mighty Truck gets the job done. Crafted in theTonka trucks tradition, this dump truck is made with steel, rugged plastic and guaranteed for life.
Editorial Review While many classic toys are now mass-produced using cheaper materials (primarily plastic), this Tonka truck's quality construction is preserved. Although the wheels and frame of this dump truck are made of plastic, it is of a heavy, durable weight and suitable for the muddy or wet territories that this truck is sure to encounter. The dump bed, however, is made of heavy-duty steel--just the way parents will remember this toy. This massive truck measures 18 inches long and is a hulking 11-1/4 inches tall with an enormous dump bed that can haul and dump overwhelming piles of dirt, cedar chips, or toys. A plastic handle on the front of the dump bed provides a sturdy grip for tilting the bed to drop a heavy load and ease the bed back to a horizontal position again. Rugged 6-1/2-inch tires enable this truck to scale (and potentially flatten) towering mountains of sand at the beach or rocky, mountainous terrain at the park. Tonka stand behind the durability of this toy by covering it with a full lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

My Son's Favorite Toy December 1, 2008 M. Hertzler (East Coast USA) Given to us on his first birthday, my son has been in love with this truck since before he could walk. He pushed it on his knees for a few months. He used it to lean on while he was cruising. He pushed it around the house when he finally learned to walk. Now, he uses it indoors and out. He loads it up with leaves, toys and such and then dumps it out. He runs behind it at breakneck speed. This is the best gift a boy could get.
Awesome Truck!!! November 29, 2008 Terri Wilder (Check, VA USA) My son has 4 of these. One for inside my house, one for inside his grandparent's and 2 for outside. He has played with them nonstop since he started walking. Sometimes his big sister even joins in. I buy one for every little boy birthday party we go to...and it is always a huge hit!!
One Great Truck November 28, 2008 gobey007 (Newburyport, MA USA) We got this truck for my son before he was even walking. He started pushing it backards, so he could lean on the handle, when he first started to walk and at three and half he still does. This truck has miles on it. He pushes it to town 1/2 mile away and when he was younger and tired easily he would sit in the bucket and get pushed home. One tough truck, that's his wieght plus mine pushing on it.
made in CHINA November 25, 2008 totalpkg (Flint, MI) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I try VERY hard to buy toys made in the USA. I ordered two of these and about fell backwards when I looked at the bottom of the box and saw those words I cringe at: MADE IN CHINA. These trucks were to be donated to Toys for Tots (let's be GENEROUS, please) but I'm going to ask someone else to bring these and I'll be buying toys locally to ensure they're made in the good ole US of A. I'd be mortified to be seen with a "MADE IN CHINA" toy when the majority of the children in my area have parents who are now begging for help because their jobs were downsized to other countries... especially China. Why can't we add another line on Amazon to state where an item is made? Buy American, keep jobs here. And give to Toys for Tots and your local food bank or shelter, please!!!
Great toy November 23, 2008 Lantana Al (Lantana, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a nice toy that my almost 2 year old son is getting a lot of use out of. It is built reasonably well with plastic and metal. It could probably be a little more rugged (perhaps stronger/thicker plastic) but overall it is quite good. Because I think it is reasonably durable and my son seems to enjoy it a lot, I'm giving it 5 stars. See photo of my son (in pumpkin costume) on the truck.
