Amazon.com Product Description
Spin a magical masterpiece with the RoseArt Magic Spin art kit. Ideal for ages 6 through 10, this spin art kit is fun and easy to use. Simply drop the paints on the paper and spin to produce colorful designs that are definitely worthy of display on the refrigerator.

A Spin on Children's Art
Providing a unique new way to create art, Magic Spin Art is designed for kids with explosive creativity. Kids can produce awesome, psychedelic bursts of color just by spinning the paint on a sheet of paper. Drop the paint on the mechanized spinner and watch it splay out in a beautiful design. With blue, red, yellow, and green paint, the set comes equipped with all the color options your child will need. The entire process might sound messy, but the spin art device comes with a splash guard that makes clean-up a breeze.

Educational Value
Of course, this doesn't mean that creating spin art doesn't require some skill. As kids get better at making spin art, they'll learn to control their spins and produce even more intricate and complex designs. A fun and educational toy, Spin Art can teach children artistic creativity as well as manual dexterity and coordination.

What's in the Box
Motorized unit, splash guard, 4 paint bottles, and 20 paint sheets.

4 out of 5 stars spin art   July 1, 2008

My daughter had this toy when she was little and really enjoyed it. Since my grandaughter also likes art and craft type things I wanted to get one for her but could not find the kind I wanted in the stores. She enjoys playing with it.

1 out of 5 stars Good idea, Poorly designed   March 23, 2008
Allison Lebaron (Sunland, CA United States)
I bought this spin art toy because my son's preschool has one similar and he LOVES it. I bought this particular one based on the reviews and I hate to say but this is one of the first times I feel let down. Here are my complaints:
1) The paper the kit comes with does NOT fit in the desinated holders so you either have to make it fit in (then it sticks up in the center) or you have to trim each piece.
2) The paint splashes out of the paint area despite the "splash guard," which resulted in my children's clothing covered with splattered paint.
3) When you put more than 5 drops of paint on the paper the motor slows down and you can hear that it's working to spin the platform. I would except a motor designed for 20 drops of paint because often that's what it takes for all the children I have seen to feel their art is complete.

I must say that despite all of this my kids are still having a lot of fun, and ask to do this 4 or 5 times a day. The good parts are that it is easy to clean and store away, but I need more than that for a better review.

My recommendation is to buy this toy but from a different manufacturer. It is a fantastic idea.

5 out of 5 stars Full of fun!   January 14, 2008
Sara Meyer (NorCal, California)
A classic toy, full of fun and entertainment! - so much so that the few pieces of cardstock that come with it get used up fast, so be prepared to make some more pieces they can paint on!

5 out of 5 stars Great Toy!   January 4, 2008
Bread Lover (USA)
I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. We have run out of paper already so I will be buying some car stock or something for her to continue on and my guess is we will run out of paint soon too, but I will just go to a craft store and buy more. I might have to water the paint down a bit so it will spin well, but thats ok. The machine seems to have a good amount of power and seems tough enough to put up with a 4 year old. Also, it comes with a little plastic cover that really keeps the piant in so it doesn't splatter all over your table. I would recommend this!

4 out of 5 stars FUN!   January 2, 2008
Catty B (Austin TX USA)
I bought this for my 8 & 9 year old niece and nephew for Christmas and we had a blast with it! Their grandmother (my mother) thought it would be too messy and so we went out on the driveway with it. The guard really works and when we ran out of paper and paint, I rinsed the whole thing out in the sink very easily. The only mess happens when little hands try to get the painting off the spinner and smudging can ensue and their clothes get painted as they lean over to look. They were thrilled with what they made and now I'm trying to find replacement paper & paint to send to them to do more. It was a bigger hit than I thought.
