Editorial Review
Anyone who's ever done it knows the indescribable feeling--getting Yahtzee in one roll! Of course, this five-of-a-kind phenomenon only happens once in a blue moon. The rest of the time, players must be content with a three-roll full house, large or small straight, or any other combination of five dice. In this seductive game of luck and strategy, players have three tries each turn to roll dice in hopes of obtaining the elusive Yahtzee--or racking up points in one of the 12 other scoring categories. For a real challenge, go for a bonus Yahtzee--two or more in one game! This parlor classic has captivated and vexed players, young and old, since 1956. Game includes five dice, dice cup, 10 bonus chips, score pad, and instructions (English and Spanish). For one or more players. --Emilie Coulter

5 out of 5 stars Cheap and Kids Love It   June 24, 2008
Bernard Chapin (CHICAGO! USA)
Over the years I've found that Yahtzee is one of those timeless classics that kids really love. They enjoy throwing the dice and dig the sound of dice jostling about in the container. It does assist with basic math skills--at least a little--and draws on the competitive instincts of young boys in particular. Sometimes, with really antsy children, I let them stand and toss their dice against the wall which adds to their enjoyment. Besides, the price of the game just can't be beat. It sure as heck is a better use of time that your average video game.

this game is a lot of fun for all ages... I just don't think that 5 dice, a plastic cup, and a special Yahtzee pad of paper should cost $7.99

5 out of 5 stars A must-have classic   June 8, 2007
Meteo22ob (Philadelphia)
If you like family board/dice games, Yahtzee is a classic that you must have! This game is easy to learn, can be set up and played quickly, employs strategy, and can be enjoyed by kids and adults. Beginners can win against advanced players occasionally. Yahtzee has some similarity to the hands in poker, and is a good game to play before learning poker.

Yahtzee is the funnest family game out there. It is so quick to pull out and fast to learn. You really only need 5 dice and you're ready to play Yahtzee. I found this website: [...]/ which will count the score on all the dice for you. It's like an online yahtzee scoresheet/scorecard. Try it out if you buy the game!!
