Land of Nod and the CPSC have announced the recall of toy vegetable playsets manufactured in Nepal. The toy asparagus contains a wire that, when exposed, causes a laceration hazard. Only the asparagus is affected by the recall and parents can contact the company for a free replacement asparagus toy.

The CPSC and Step2 today announced the recall of 63,000 Step2 Transportation Center toys. The blue plastic wheels on the train cars can detach and cause a choking hazard. The toys were manufactured in the United States.

Words of effusive praise for any toy don't come easily for my husband. While he supports my job as a toy reviewer, he shakes his head a lot. He's not crazy about the sheer number of toys I bring home in a given year, and to his credit, many of them aren't worth getting excited about. All of the Felicity dolls and accessories will be removed from retail stores and catalogues to make room for new American Girl products. Felicity books will still be available for sale at retail.
