Product Description Take your favorite shows with you any time, any place with a new generation of VideoNow players. Portable, pint-sized video players fit in the palm of your hand and now come in a range of high-tech tints to make them fashionable and fun to watch. Simply pop in a PVD (Personal Video Disc), sold separately, and you're ready to roll. Includes headphone jack for private listening. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (not included). Screen measures 2.5".
Editorial Review With a trendy design sure to please tech-savvy tweens, the VideoNow Color FX System provides portable entertainment in a kid-friendly format. Clad in a tinted, transparent plastic case that offers a peek at the circuitry inside, the VideoNow Color FX player stylishly spins high quality PVDs (personal video discs) specifically designed for this player. A compact screen measuring 1-1/2 by 2 inches sits on the outside of the player, which works much like a portable compact disc player. Pop open the lid to load a disc, then control playback with four well-placed buttons (play/pause, stop, next, and previous) surrounding the screen. Great for on-the-go entertainment, this durable handheld video player features a self-contained speaker, adjustable volume and contrast settings, and jacks for DC power and headphones (adapter and headphones sold separately). Coordinating carrying cases, car adaptors, and a wide variety of PVD-formatted shows from Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and 4KidsTV are available separately. A next-generation version of the player that was awarded Best Toy at the Ultimate Toy Awards Show, the VideoNow Color FX requires three AA batteries (not included) to go for a spin. --Heather Lyndon

Overall great ....if you know a few secrets December 24, 2007 C. Turgeon (pawtucket, ri United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this toy last year for my four year old & he broke it pretty quick. I bought it again for him this year because he LOVED it soooo much. The Cd's are alittle hard to come by but, here's a tip for you. You can go online and google the video now media wizard. It's a computer software set and for 5.00 you can personalize your own pvd's for this player. I downloaded music & video's from itunes & made my own discs. That made it great for several differnt age ranges. I made video photo albums set to music & downloaded short star wars clips too. They should definetly not be man handling this toy though. It doesn't hold up well to toddlers.
Videonow is cool January 20, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I like my videonow because I can watch Scooby-Doo in the car. I like it because I can watch a different cartoon than my sister is watching. I like it because I can see the CD spinning.
Not bad for the price January 9, 2007 Maria Roges (Boston, MA United States) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Bought this for my 8 year old son. The good thing is the device is a reasonably cheap way to keep him entertained on a long car ride. Also the device is inexpensive, as are the discs. The bad thing is that the PVD format is proprietary, so the discs aren't compatible with anything else. The other bad thing is the power usage is inefficient seeming, batteries wear out quickly. Ok for what it is.
Got two, one doesn't work December 25, 2006 P. Drew (Richmond, VA USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's Christmas morning. Thank GOODNESS we bought two identical VideoNows for our two boys, as one of them keeps freezing, if it plays the picture it is all snowy. We tried a different brand of batteries to see if that made a difference. I'm not thrilled with the quality - if they all work the way the second one we opened work, then it's a great (hopefully more sturdy) alternative to a standard portable DVD player.
