Editorial Review
Made by Fisher-Price, this electronic learning system is comprised of an InteracTV DVD, which you insert into your home DVD player; a controller; and activity cards based on popular children's television shows. Plug an activity card into the controller, and games and activities featuring that show will appear on the TV screen. Nine touch points let kids interact with the characters, in lessons covering numbers, colors, animals, and more. Cards contain more than 100 learning questions and activities, posed randomly. This model comes with three activity cards--SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Elmo's World--as well as a storage case to hold the cards and the DVD. A switch on the controller enables you to use the system on up to three different DVD players--say, in multiple rooms, or at relatives' houses. --Andy Boynton

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time and money   May 3, 2008
S. DePalma (New York)
Well, I thought this would be a great idea for my son with autism. He has trouble holding a small device, so the larger interface and the large remote looked promising. Unfortunately, it never worked properly. After spending an hour to program it, it didnt read the cards properly. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing. It was a good idea that hasn't been implemented well.

5 out of 5 stars Most played with toy at our house   September 7, 2007
Lins (Florida)
We got this over 2 years ago for our then 3 year old for Christmas. It took about 15 min for my husband to set it up. We also have it set up at both Grandparents houses, and again it took about 15 min. We did lose the book for the codes but they are easy to find online. My dd plays with this all the time, we have every cartrige out there now because she loves it so much. Her 2.5 yr old sister has now started playing with it also. Out of all the toys we have this is the most requested toy out there. And we even changed DVDs recently and had no problem getting it to work on our new TV. This is now a gift that I buy lots of friends because it has a low price, it's eductational, and it's so much fun for the kids!

4 out of 5 stars Fun educational interactive TV game   June 2, 2007
A. Coleman (NW Arkansas; United States)
We got this for our little guy when he was 3 y/o- and he doesn't use it all the time, but he still definitely uses it (he's 5 1/2). He enjoys it- it will keep him occupied for 30 mins or so, and I don't really want him staring at the TV anymore than that. Once you've played all the games though you can't change them up- you just have to buy additional games. We got a great deal on several game for it, so we went with it.

1 out of 5 stars Wish it worked   May 18, 2007
Robin Donahue (NH)
We got this for our 3 yr old for Christmass. Tried for several months to get it to work with our TV, we even got a new TV just for this thing and it never worked! We had 4 different adults try to get it to work and it just never did.

1 out of 5 stars BEWARE   April 25, 2007

i had 2 dvd players (cheap ones, so dont listen to the reviews by some planks who say dont buy cheap)and this system was easy to set up and had it working in minutes. here is the kicker, i replaced my dvd players with dvd recorders and now cannot get this interactv system to work on either, i phoned the helpline number and they told me that this is a common problem. so if you have a relatively new dvd player be prepared to return this item as mattel is not offering any new codes, so if the ones in the book and the manual code input doesnt work for you, you knackered.
there is nothing i like more than throwing my hard earned money away to multi million pound companies, thanks for creating a toy that clearly doesnt work on all platforms.

the moral is, this worked well on all my cheap and nasty dvd players, not on my good expensive ones.
