Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
For 4 or more players in teams, Electronic Catch Phrase is the game of 10,000 words and a million laughs. The self-contained electronic unit has words, categories and a timer and scorekeeper. Perfect for taking on vacation. Requires 3 "AAA" alkaline batteries (not included).

Editorial Review
Ever play "Hot Potato" with a spud that ticks and talks? Welcome to Electronic Catch Phrase, the battery-powered (three AAA, not included) blend of clue deduction and race against the clock. Two teams of two or more players each alternate turns, guessing the answers to clues in 11 categories, from Food & Drink to Tech & Inventions. Set the timer on the discus-like game unit, and the clue-giving countdown begins; if a team's guess matches the response on the game's readout, pass the unit to the opponents. Just don't get caught holding this potato when the buzzer sounds (after about a minute of increasingly insistent beating), as the other team will score a point, possession being nine- tenths of the "Awww!" With its infectious mix of fast, nerve-wracking, high- pressure passing the buck, Electronic Catch Phrase spreads a serious case of fun. --Tony Mason

5 out of 5 stars be ready to spend hours learning and laughing   August 16, 2008
Tony Harris (Indiana)
My family has the version 1 catchphrase and I honestly think we have memorized most of the answers. It would have been nice to have a way to just update the questions but this is the next best thing. All new questions and loads of fun. Playing with teenagers is a absolute riot, they have no idea about some of this stuff and you should see the hints. Hope you enjoy this game as much as we have.

5 out of 5 stars Love it But...   August 4, 2008
V. Hercher
I love playing this game with my family. But really really wish there was a way to turn off the sound. We like to pick it up at family gatherings and just pass it around the circle guessing and giving hints. We don't want to keep score we just want to play. So please Hasbro if you read this make the next version have a sound off or volume control.

4 out of 5 stars Fun for a cookout or a rainy afternoon inside...   July 18, 2008
Georgeable (Plymouth, MA.)
This is a great game. My 12 yr. old nephew was even able to participate! It's addictive...everyone around tends to join in. There is an annoying beep that signifies the timer, but there's a way around that...We just hit the stop button and let people keep guessing. There are several topics from which to choose. Get this game and take it with you to your next cookout and also on vacation, (for the rainy days).

5 out of 5 stars A great game for groups.   July 2, 2008
Joseph A. Jozwiak (Jersey Shore, NJ, USA)
"Catch phrase" is a great game for use with various sizes of groups...it is fast moving, lots of fun and can easily be used as an "ice breaker" to help people get to know one another and work as teams.

5 out of 5 stars More challenging than the first   May 7, 2008
E. Jeter (Washington, D.C.)
This is my 3rd version of catchphrase (remember the one with the cards you changed out?) and by far the most challenging. I've wanted a new version since exhausting my old one, and am very pleased.
