5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   July 29, 2008
Rock collector (St. Louis, MO USA)
I bought this globe for my 7-year-old daughter, because she did not know the difference between Chicago and Chile. Only a few weeks after we started playing with games on this globe, she remembers most of major country names and locations. She also enjoys listening musics for each country. It is an excellent toy!

4 out of 5 stars Kids love it   July 1, 2008
Kerri Johnson (Morris, IL United States)
Bought this toy as a birthday gift for my 2 boys ages 5 and 7. They both love pointing to all the different continents/countries and are learning places even I didn't know existed! The only problem so far (and we've only had the globe for a few days) is one time the pen wasn't working when we touched it to the globe, but after turning the globe off it restarted and has been working fine. Hopefully this won't continue to be a problem (considering the price of this toy there shouldn't be ANY problems), otherwise the toy is great!

4 out of 5 stars Fun but not as exciting as anticipated   May 29, 2008

7 year old son asked for the globe, but doesn't play with it as much as Magnetix, Army tank, etc. I was hoping he'd be fascinated with learning non-stop, but he really only likes the music from different countries on the globe.

5 out of 5 stars Write on this globe with a dry erase marker!   April 20, 2008

A tip I learned from my toddler (a happy accident): The LeapFrog Explorer Smart Globe can be written on with a dry erase marker and wiped off.

I was angry when I saw that my 2-year-old had scribbled on her older sister's globe, but when I saw how easily it wiped off, I had the idea to intentionally write on it as we learn geography in our homeschool.

Our whole family loves this globe. My husband and I challenge each other with the games. Our 5-year-old tries to identify countries and see if she's correct, and our 2-year-old likes to tap randomly with the stylus and repeat whatever she hears. It can't be a bad thing when a 2-year-old says "Indonesia," right?

5 out of 5 stars Fun and educational!   March 26, 2008

I bought this for my son's 9th birthday and he loves it! Our whole family has enjoyed playing the challenge games and my son is becoming hard to beat. We're all learning more about geography and the challenges help us to learn new places. I definitely recommend this for school-age kids (and their parents).
