Amazon.com Product Description
Looking for the perfect Barbie Girl? Be sure and check out our full selection of Barbie Girls and accessories at Amazon.com. The world seems a lot smaller these days thanks to connective technology such as MP3 players, cell phones, PDAs, the Internet, and more. So what better way for girls to go global than with this Barbie Girl device? Barbie has been at the forefront of trendsetting for nearly 50 years and now she's offering today's young girls a way to share their passion for fashion, music, and chat with their bffs. At barbiegirls.com girls can create their own, personalized online space--everything from designing a "room" to creating a character--where they can then play games, chat with gal pals, watch videos, and even shop with earned virtual money. Word filters, moderation tools, and other safety features ensure that the virtual world stays friendly and fun to all visitors, but the added security and benefits of this Barbie Girl device are ingenious. The Barbie Girl device is basically an MP3 player with attitude. First, it offers a range of customizable fashions and accessories, delivering the next generation of fashion doll play. Second, it is a music device with 1GB of on-board memory. Third, the Barbie Girl device acts as a "key" for girls who have a room on barbiegirls.com. Girls who have this device and who have physically connected them into one another's computer docking stations can become "best friends" and chat in "secret." It's a more personal touch to the site experience and an extra layer of safety for parents. The device also allows its user to unlock additional pets, games, hangouts, fashions, and more online. This Barbie Girl Device is mostly pink, comes with two hairstyles, two faces, two tops, two skirts (one over pants), and a pair of shoes that can be interchanged to match the owner's current mood and style. The tech gadget also includes adjustable earbuds, a belt clip, and a durable storage case so it's easy to take everywhere. Additional packs of fashions, pets, and accessories are sold separately and offer the ability for girls to make their Barbie Girl as unique as themselves. Tech Specs - 1GB on-board memory

Awesome November 2, 2008 Catman (Omaha, NE) The only problem with this toy is if you have two girls in which we do, then you will have to buy two bc they will fight over it all the time. I bought this for my 6 yr old on her birthday and the 5 yr old always wants to listen to it. They Love It Awesome gift. She likes this more than any other gift!
Barbie Girls MP3 Player September 19, 2008 Texas Cookies I bought this for my daughter for her 7th birthday. She was so happy and has remained so since the minute she opened it. It was easy to upload music and so far seems to be a durable toy. It has provided my daughter with hours of entertainment. No complaints!
Fun and Simple MP3 Player May 31, 2008 Julie Mally (Pennsylvania, USA) If you just want something simple that looks pretty, this MP3 player does the job. But it may be too simple. There is no way to choose an individual song, you have to just keep scrolling through your songs till you get to the one you want. I really wish this player came with a LED screen. My only other problem with it is the controls. That circular style of control can be a real problem. Sometimes it thinks you hit the pause when you just wanted to change songs, or sometimes it will think you wanted to change songs when all you're trying to do is lower or raise the volume. I had a problem with not knowing I had accidentally lowered the volume to none, and had to keep fiddling with it till I got sound again. We really needed individual control buttons. Installing the software is easy. And you really don't need it or the complicated instructions for adding songs to the player. Just choose to open a writable folder when you plug it in and Windows asks you what to do. It will open the drive of your MP3 player. Then you can just drag and drop your songs in there. But do make sure you follow the instructions for safely removing the device before you unplug it. I also thought the instruction manual wasn't clear enough on a few things. The player lets you access extra fun things on the BarbieGirls website. It's a fun time waster. You can buy accessories for your player and make it look different, which is really the main feature. It is fun to change the hair or clothing. I would recommend this player, just be sure you only want something really simple. Don't expect it to do anything but play some songs and look pretty.
Daughter loves it! February 17, 2008 Lovebugsmama (Southern Cal) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was a great deal I couldn't pass up during the holidays and I am glad I got it! My daughter loves this thing! It was easy to load and she uses it and dances around like a big kid. The only thing that is bothersome is that the earbuds are still big for petite girls. Great deal for the money! (now she is not bugging me to use mine! )
Barbie MP3 February 12, 2008 Hurtlocker Bought two of these for my 8 year old and 5 year old girls for Christmas. Even though they both were excited about the online content, they quickly lost interest (unlike Webkinz). Software and the MP3 player does not work with a Mac. Works OK with Windows Media Player. Headphones are terrible, but my girls don't mind them. I found that if they are wearing their headphones while doing chores (picking up room or play room) they get the work done faster and don't argue - worth the price for that alone.
