$42?!?!?! November 10, 2008 Sheralyn Rock In theory this toy is great. The reality is however that you are wasting your money. The current asking price here is $42 as of November 9, 2008, and I can tell you it is available at Target for about $30 less (in the pool supplies section). My daughters Ariel survived all of 2 pool swims and died after a couple of boys got their hands on it. Needless to say this toy is not durable. It's not cuddly either, which is a bit disconcerting since it has now been relegated to the bed as a goodnight friend. I am planning to replace this toy, but this time I plan on going to the actual Disney store and purchasing their version of a swimming Ariel with soft contours and "real" hair and still much less than $42!!!

its a great product for a 7 yr girl who loves ariel the littel mermaid... it works great in the water.. she loves it and thats all that matters to me.
She loves it! September 30, 2008 C. Wilson (Carlsbad, CA United States) I got this for my 3yo daughter to play with at the pool or in the tub. She is a big fan of Ariel's and absolutely LOVES this toy. The doll can actually swim around the entire pool! It it not difficult to take apart.. just a quick twist. Enjoy!
Great.....love it!!! September 30, 2008 syn (Tennessee) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought one of these for my daughter a few months ago and she loved it. When my best friend's daughter wanted one I got it for her for her birthday. Not a night goes by that Ariel don't go for a swim with her. She loves it!!!!
Kid loves it, worked until a battery change September 8, 2008 A former student... (Arizona) My three year old, who swims independently (the length of our 30' pool) loves this doll, and it is great entertainment for her, as she will chase it around the pool, pretending she is ariel or dora or mariana (the dora mermaid character). This is great for me, as dad (me) doesn't have to pretend to be dora, or ariel, or mariana. Unfortunately, the packaged batteries kept Ariel swimming for about 3 weeks. She swam fast and good. We changed the batteries, and when I did, despite my best efforts, and regreasing the seal with a pool quality silicone, the seal didn't hold, and she was infiltrated with water. Now Ariel is no more. Do I buy another? Hmmm...
