This doll will not be played with or even taken out of the box. My daughter and I collect Lucy Barbies and have since the first one came out. It was shipped very quickly and we received it only a few days after it was ordered.

I would have paid more to have the dresses a little fuller, the way they appeared on the show. I love that there is now an Ethel doll to add to the collection, but she doesn't look like her very much. They could of given her a more full figured body mold. Also, the rooted eyelashes are great on Lucy, because that was just her style. They don't work on the Ethel doll. She looks a lot more glamorous than she really did on the show.
The reason I only give it 3 stars is I wish for more attention to detail on the Ethel doll. Mattel has done a great job with all the Lucy Dolls. Now only if they could do that with the Ethel doll. The duo can next be seen in the Chocolate Factory Doll Set. Again, Ethel looks too glamorous. If there is to be a third set, I hope they do Vivian Vance justice.

Barbie dolls Lucy and Ethel come together in one box. Barbie Lucy looks like the real person. Ethel is pretty too, but she never looked this good in real life. Dolls are great for the both Barbie and Lucy collectors alike. A definite must have!

This is a long-awaited set: "Lucy and Ethel Buy the Same Dress" from Episode #69. The girls tear each other apart, top to bottom, as they sing the FRIENDSHIP song together on stage. The likeness to Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance is incredible, and details were not skimped on here. The violet, gray and white gowns, bejeweled floral sash and dainty earrings complete the ensemble to perfection. Buy this one while you can; before long they will be gone and only available on the popular auction sites for hundreds of dollars.
