Editorial Review
This is where Calico Critter lawyers and doctors might choose to park the Calicadillac: a spacious three-story residence with dormer windows in the teal blue "tile" roof, a full porch, two bay windows that open and close, and other fancy features. The house is 18 inches high at the roof line, 18 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. Above the porch, French doors open on to a balcony. Turn the house around and you'll find that the back is open, revealing a spiral staircase and white balustrades, making it easy to arrange and furnish the eight distinct living spaces inside. --Richard Farr

4 out of 5 stars fun for my 3 year old   October 5, 2008
P
I got this house for my daughter's 3d birthday, and she loves it! It has openings all around so I put it on top of a lazy susan so she can spin it around while she plays with it:) Some of the furniture settings for the critters can't really fit in the house (like the kitchen set that we have), so I wonder if they're more meant for the crittter's town house..."

1 out of 5 stars Flimsy, not well made   May 22, 2008

If you have ever bought a Calico Critters set that comes with accessories, you will know that they are all made of plastic. I have the Cloverleaf Corners Nursery School, which is all plastic but is still durable and does not have tiny, breakable plastic parts. I cannot say the same for this plastic dollhouse for Calico Critters. I bought it because the Nursery School was durable although plastic. I really did not want to buy a plastic toy, but at the time, I could not find a wood dollhouse small enough to fit the 3" maximum height of the Critters. I returned this item. Then, I found that Real Good Toys has a line of heirloom-quality, pre-built, painted and ready to play 1/2 scale wood dollhouses which have a ceiling height perfect for 3" characters. They are beautiful and reasonably priced and much better quality than the Calico Critters' own townhouse, which is plastic. Real Good Toys just expanded (as of May 2008) their line of pre-built dollhouses and there is now an adorable 1/2 scale pink dollhouse that is just darling. They fit Calico Critters perfectly and are of heirloom quality...search for Real Good Toys 1/2 scale Farmhouse in pink or 1/2 scale Colonial see the company's website at (insert the company's name).com I wish Amazon would carry Real Good Toys' finished dollhouses... This plastic product, however, will not stand up to years of play.

5 out of 5 stars Daughter loves it!   January 19, 2008

We purchased this Deluxe Village House for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. She was very pleased with it. The house is even more adorable in person than it is in the pictures online. It's very durable and has a lot of details. We had also separately purchased Calico Critters Kitchen Set & Accessories, Calico Critters Bathroom Set & Accessories, Calico Critters Girl's Bedroom Set&Accessories and several other room sets. These look so cute in the house. There seems to be plenty of room for my daughter to set everything up and still move the characters around. She loves that the doors and windows actually open up in the house. She has some of the other popular small plastic animal sets available in stores (i.e, Littlest Pet Shop and a few others)and those products also work well in this house. I would recommend this product for children ages 3-8. This is a great purchase.

5 out of 5 stars great house   January 12, 2008

This is much better than the Calico Critters Townhouse. This is more sturdy and easier for small hands to manipulate the furniture. If you are buying Calico Critters, this is the only house you need to buy. The townhouse is not worth it.

5 out of 5 stars 5 Year Old Loves It   November 24, 2007

The house is very sturdy. I can see how this could be handed down to others in my family. The house itself is simple. (What you see is what you get) The house is open on two sides with plenty of room for the large amounts of furniture that come in the different critter sets. This is not for 3 and four year olds unless they excellent fine motor skills. My 57 month old has a difficult time with some of the very tiny items in the sets that you purchase to fill the house; lip sticks, brushes, pencils but she loves all of them.
